You know Sundecks are a wonderful thing. With the exception of what happens when it rains or if you have got a heavy due at night. The surface gets wet and really messy. Especially is there is a lot of leaves and residual and especially if you have got a dog. All that dirt and mess is track in the event that you want into the house. Well that can be all solved by applying a product on top of the deck called deck boards. Come on over the lab and I will show you what deck boards are all about. Come on.
Now this is deck board. As you can see, water can drain trough the spaces between the pieces of one by three. Now what I have done, I have used my unique work bench by using the cavities for dropping in some pieces of the one by three for stops. That allows me to push my pieces up against to this are all eventual pieces and this here, two piece of happen to be the slipper boards and those slipper boards are going to nailed on top.
Now you can see at the end here I have nailed in place a piece of one by three. Just to bring all the ends up nice and tight. Getting me the calibration as far as nice flash and all the way trough, now I have 16 inch pieces here because I have decided to make this squares 16 inches to fit nicely on the four by eight decks. Now the one by three slot, I have down at the bottom. That is a six pieces and then the slipper boards on the top. Because I am going to nail down trough the slipper boards into slots using inch of a quarter galvanized nails. Now I am using an open end wrench for a spacer. The reason why that is, is most people have a set of wrenches at home and they are about three sixteenth of an inch in thickness and a good solid block to use between for spacing.
Now let us take them over and see how they look. Well there we have the deck board sitting down 16 inch square and we are putting it in a Parke design. Then that looks nice and warm on. You can bet it does.
