We got an email here from Christopher Alexander who wrote just an extensive email, amazing email. I am actually going to be posting the bulk of it in the separate blog post on my blog@chris.perrilo.com because a lot of it is about coffee.
It was based on the coffee in this present tips that we gave just the other day. And so I am going to be posting his tips in extension of those tips onto the blog here most likely after I have done recording videos tonight.
But he also added top five tips for maintaining a lean body.
1. Avoid high glycemic food, refined foods like sugars, flours, etc. Avoid candy all together, too much sugar and fat. Drink diet soda or sugar free waters versus highly sugared drinks. My solution is I do not drink sugar even I do not really snack a lot. My advice is coffee and I am using real heavy cream. Not having a good regular eating schedule also causes me problems and he is going to get a tip on that as well. And in any kind of drink that I beyond coffee that I happened to consume is usually like a sparkling water of sorts which is not always great for your teeth but hey, because that is one way of losing weight is losing teeth, it is not much weight but you got to get it when you can.
2. Track your calories by weighing your foods and calculating the calories. You will know how much fuel you are putting into your body, good rule of thumb around 2,000 for typical man, 1,750 for typical woman, you can have your basement metabolic rate, the number of calories your body need just to maintain calculated by nutritionist or by fitness trainer at your local health club.
3. Reduced fatty foods. Red meat tends to have a lot of fat; T-bone steak could have as much 88% calories from fat. Eat chicken, tuna, or shrimp etcetera. If you need to eat beef, the leanest cut is eye of round, precook it and rinse the fat off ina colander to make chili from ground eye of round. Good rule of thumb, do not eat foods which contains more than 30% calories from fats. Do not cut fats out of your diet entirely. When I say diet I do not mean you need to go on a diet, I am saying your regular eating schedule, your body needs fat, most importantly essential fatty acids, your Omega 3s, 6s, and 9s. Oil is important, do not cut it out. Into back track I do not trust any sugar free or anything unless it is a naturally sugar free, I do not like it and I do not need hydrogenated oil and I do not trust Hyper fructose corn syrup, bad, bad, bad stuff!
4. Eat more often throughout the day. This is where I usually get tripped up. Six regular meals as compared to three large ones. This increases your metabolism and rubs up your body every time you eat it causing you to burn more calories throughout the day. Some have argued against this but I do think it is better to eat in smaller increments because what will happen if you do not do that is like what happened today, I did not really have any regular meals other than what I made this morning, so she made, it some nice food. I do not eat the whole bowl. I was proud about that but I ended up eating way too much bread because I was hungry and I kept eating, I kept eating, kept eating. I should have done it. I know I should have done it. But hopefully I am still within a 2,000 calorie limit for the day.
5. In going for a circle here, increase your daily exercise even if it is going for a walk; try to do 30 minutes plus a day of mild exercise. Time of day does not matter. This is again in according to him but he also notes, try resistance training, lifting weights, three workouts a week will do wonderful maintaining your muscle while you get leaner. This is the only way to reshape your body just doing cardio and tracking your calories will reduce your over all size but do little to reshape you. You may become a smaller pear but you will still be pear shape. And, he says he was a former fat person and new found coffee lover. So he is going to wait. I have posted if he do a Google for think weight loss tips, I am number one on Google.
