Female: Hi everyone, welcome back to diet.com video where you can get all the latest breaking news and tips on health and fitness. I am your host, Sarah and today I am going to give you some tips on how to never skip a workout again.
We have all been there. The hardest part about working out is getting to the gym. Excuses are far too easy to make up to skip out. Maybe you are too tired, you do not have enough time, it is getting too late. If you are having a hard time finding motivation to get to the gym, here are some great tips on how to never skip out on a workout again.
Go to the gym during a time that one of your favorite TV shows is on. Many gyms have individual TV sets attached to cardio machines. This way, you know you are bound to keep your body moving for 30 to 60 minutes and you can even switch machines during commercial breaks to get an interval type workout.
If your gym does not have a TV, do not worry, pick up a health or fitness magazine and read it while you are on the elliptical. There will be plenty of pictures of women working out to get you motivated and you will also learn some new exercises you can do on the mat or machines. The sets are often hard to follow so bring it along and read it as you go.
If you are more into Hollywood gossip than the health bits, pick up the latest celebrity gossip mag and make a point not to read it at home but at the gym. This is a great idea for people who hate to workout on the weekends since most of these magazines come out on Friday or Saturday.
(Inaudible) download new songs and CDs to your IPod. Test them out while you are at the gym. Get recommendations on Itunes and spend the time while you are on the treadmill trying to find your next favorite band. Now remember, the faster and more upbeat the songs are, the more likely you are to workout harder and for an extra tip, put your songs on shuffle so you are excited to find out which song is next.
Most of us hate letting people down so plan a time to go to the gym with a friend. You will probably have more fun and you will be a lot less likely to skip out. If you are competitive like me, you want to keep up with your friend or you are going to workout harder.
Most gyms offer various exercise classes, make it pact with yourself to try out each one. Now, exercise used to be fun so why not mix it up and try something new. You already paid for the gym membership so you might as well get your money’s worth. You can get personal attention from the trainer and you are guaranteed to workout hard. If are in town, you may even meet some new people.
That is it for today but if you want some more motivational tips, go over to diet.com where you can get all the latest breaking news and tips on health and fitness, see you next time.
