Interviewer: A four-year-old indulged with a lot of things, is that correct?
Interviewee: Yes, with four years old, you raised on it to get into the preschool age—these children. You know, in two years they are going to start being at first grade and they are really starting to learn a lot of the things they can get there and a lot of—
Interviewer: They should hop, run, skip and climb.
Interviewee: Sure. Their motor development is also going to be advancing a lot and this is in the good age to start teaching them some simple sports like soccer and things like they are able to do and get some exercise, keep their health and start getting more extras in what they are doing.
Interviewer: And they are a little bit accident-prone, aren’t they?
Interviewee: Sure. You know, a lot of times these kids are going to think that they can do more than they can especially if I have older siblings and they want to do what they can and they are still learning a lot of these things. So, it’s going to be hard for them to do a lot.
Interviewer: And allow them to dress themselves a little bit like goes into about shoes and stuff, is that true?
Interviewee: Sure, that is partly a motor skill and it is even probably a social skill where they should really start becoming little more independent from their mother or father and doing everything for them and they should really have their own which is their own ones and they will even start telling parents what they want to wear and what they want to do.
Interviewer: They show some new fears, a little afraid of this and a little afraid of that, it seems to happen around four, is that true?
Interviewee: Yes, as long as the anxiety isn’t—you know, it does not go over board and they are not too anxious to try anything new, I think a parent can slowly encourage them and teach them how to try new things.
Interviewer: And they sort of test the parent’s patience. They will start using some bad words they hear and see what you do with a response or to wait for another word, is that true?
Interviewee: Yes, I mean, especially whatever they hear in school or on the bus, wherever else they are, they are going to start testing and finding out what is okay and what is not. And this is why it is so important for the parents from the first time right away to draw the line and teach them what is acceptable, what is not acceptable by punishing them and explains them when they do something wrong. And rewarding them when they are showing or doing proper behaviors.
Interviewer: And they know just to be a boy and a girl a little bit, don’t they?
Interviewee: Yes, they are just trying to recognize that. They start to recognize their own poise. A lot of them will start asking question on their parents of what differences are and they start recognizing that.
Interviewer: They have a pretty good vocabulary. Some people would say 1500 to 2000 words are seemed unreasonable?
Interviewee: I am not sure, I mean, a four-year old, they can tell you a little story. They can watch a movie or read a book, being able to read a book and then tell you everything that happen to them.
Interviewer: Then know there is yesterday, today and tomorrow a little bit, don’t they?
Interviewee: Yes, that is trying to get difficult and a lot of them will be confused what tomorrow can mean, what yesterday can mean, just today, before or it can be the last weeks sometime because they start to really recognize things that had happened and what is now and what is coming up and it is a little hard for them to get a good sense of a week, and a month and things like that but they can start getting sense of it and how long things are going to happen.
Interviewer: The expressive adult is a four letter word but in a four-year-old it is called the three little word, why? Whatever you say, they have the letter “y” and make you say more. Is that true?
Interviewee: Yes, I mean—
Interviewer: I hate the why—
Interviewee: I mean, a lot of that is really the parents fault. I mean children are just repeating what they hear and you liked to be true with your c
