Great explanation of the hitting process. My son has a problem he calls "casting his hands" and I believe the emphasis on the hips carrying the body and the hands will help him to solve this problem and drive the ball harder. Fantastic video.

Stride, Drive, Contact, and Extend

Notice that contact is made out front of the batter. In the contact position, the club head for a high pitch is slightly above the hands. This allows for the batter to cover high. To make contact with the a low pitch or waist high, as shown here, all the batter need do is rotate the club head under the hands. It is in the process of extension, that some batters will prematurely "wrist roll". Remember that extension should never occur on contact. Extension occurs after contact, and the top hand must remain under the bat. It is under the bat on contact, and it remains under the bat at extension. We call this the "under-under" rule. This will prevent a roll over.
