Hi, my name is Mitch Knapp and I’m the owner of Scenic Landscaping & Tapestry Landscape Architecture and in this video clip we are going to talk about landscaping garden care after a project has been installed. After you’ve spent that money to build this beautiful project and these plants are alive there is a program that needs to be done to take of the beautification and the future care of your garden.
First, let’s start of with an IPM, an Integrated Pest Management control where plants have problems, they get sprayed and they got taken care of for the problems that they have specifically. After that you have the garden that evolves through the seasons and when you have a garden that’s starts in the springtime there is different care that’s needed with each season.
In the springtime, plants need to be cut back, pruned our, dead wooded. They also need to be fed specifically with different needs. As the season evolves there’s fertilizer and pest controls that are going to be needed for your turf. After that there’s pruning needs. Your pruning needs are going to start late summer, early summer as you’re going to rotate the needs determined by the plants.
As you go further into the season, the fall comes, it’s the time in the fall where you would be probably start taking care of your turf to rebuild up for the following season. You’re going to also start to think about closing your garden and closing your garden at that point might be winterizing, cutting back certain things also maybe some late feeding. And again it just something that needs to be taken cared of after you’ve made a large investment.
