Andrea Beaman: How many of you have a sweet tooth? I know that I do, and instead of reaching out for a candy bar which may not be so good for me, I'll reach out for something that's sweet, succulent, and delicious like an apple or a pear. This is a Bosc pear and I'm going to show you how to make something so sweet and so delicious with it, you're going to never want to eat a candy bar again, I promise.
So everybody has got a sweet tooth and I am making for you the most fantastic sweet succulent pear dessert that you're going to love, it's actually good to you, because Pears are rich in copper and Vitamin C and fiber. So the first thing you want to do, you want to get a couple of pears from the local market, organic if you can we like organic, no pesticides, and just chop off the bottom and after that you can put them in a little casserole dish and then take some apple juice or pear juice or water. The apple juice just makes it a little sweeter. I'm also going to putting in some cloves just to give it a little bit of extra special flavors.
Then you're going to cook this on 400 for about an hour and basting every 15 minutes in it's own juice and I'll show you what that looks like. You're never going to want to eat a candy bar again. So this sweet treat took about an hour to make and it's only roasted pears and apple juice with a little bit of clove and it's so sweet and so delicious, a candy bar doesn't even compare to this.
Then you take a little bit of the apple juice, that's been cooking on the bottom. I wish you guys could smell it, it's so delicious, but this is just fruits, that's it. So this is a sweet treat that is absolutely good for you. It's rich in fiber and copper and Vitamin C and all good things. So enjoy it and feel good about it.
