Beer Can Chicken is the perfect way to cook a whole chicken on the grill. The beer not only gives the chicken amazing flavor, but ensures that the meat cooks evenly and stays moist making for a delicious easy dinner.
First, let us make a rub. In a small bowl, combine one teaspoon of sugar, one teaspoon of salt, one and a half teaspoons of paprika, one teaspoon of coarsely ground black pepper, half a teaspoon of onion powder, half a teaspoon of garlic powder, and half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper. Stir and set this aside.
Next, rinse the chicken and pat dry with paper towels. Rub the entire outside of the chicken with the seasoning.

Tuck the wings under so they do not burn while cooking.
Now, heat a gas grill to medium heat. Pour half of the beer into the chicken stand.
Holding the chicken upright, slide it over the top of the stand so that it fits inside the cavity and yes, you can use a beer can too.
Remembering when handling raw poultry, wash your hands and cutting board to prevent the spread of bacteria. Cover and cook the chicken until the juices run clear when the thickest part of the thigh is pierce with the tip of a knife; about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.
