Miranda: Hi, it’s Miranda.
Nathalie: And Nathalie from Costume Crafts.
Miranda: And today we are going to have a little bit of a different project for you. It’s going
to be more like cooking with Costume Crafts, what do you say?
Nathalie: Well a little less costume craft and a little more here in the -----
Miranda: In the kitchen.
Nathalie: Yeah, here is a gift that economical and you are going to use--- and some of other
things we have but you can use lot things that you have at home.
Miranda: Exactly. So we’re going to save a lot of money with this project.
Nathalie: Right. Well we are going to make some body scrub. So, something like you can
give as gifts to neighbors, beautician, girlfriend, teachers anything that you like to
make over and over again and you have to give a lot of. And what’s great about
this is that we’re going to again, use a lot of things that you have in your pantry.
Some oil, some cocoa, some sugar just real simple stuff and then you don’t need a
couple of things from other things is you are able to making memory starch. They
come in a package of four, this is the smaller size, we also have a much smaller
size that’s going to be----
Miranda: This size is medium and it’s about $9.
Nathalie: $9 or $4, so you’re talking about 2:25 roughly per jar and then once you just put
the stuff inside it’s a great, great gift. It’s probably under $5 that you do/
Miranda: That’s out for sure.
Nathalie: Yeah. Then you’ll also need some or our new beautiful STI paper, this is the
Juliet Collection and we use this paper on the mocha body scrub. This has a
wintery fill to it.
Miranda: Right, it just---
Nathalie: Like cold and icy.
Miranda: Right so we use in and what’s great about the paper that it has foil in blocking and
some really cool, cool things. Now, the other collection that we’re going to be
looking today is more holiday inspired so more traditional but the same thing foil
flocking double sided so when you came----
Nathalie: And I love it because we have the foil and the shine on one side and then more
this side and on the other side.
Miranda: So, we are going to be using this to make the tags.
Nathalie: And to make our tags we’re going to be using a new cartridge called berry merry
tags, this is a super, super cute cricket cartridges actually a meaning cartridge so
you get a little bit less but really not, you still get 50 shapes on here?
Miranda: No, will basically like one background layer and one front layer.
Nathalie: Exactly. So a little bit more simplified than some of the other cartridges. So, it’s
definitely I would say great for beginners or advance users. There are tons of
different choices on here, you are going to get more traditional shapes or just even
some like actual candy cane or Christmas tree shapes to use as a tag for a cards.
Miranda: Oh like I also see like because they have the hole on the top I mean you could
make a cute little garland with the tag.
Nathalie: Ornament.
Miranda: You can make ornament so this is not only limited again to what the cartridge, it
the circuit cartridges called. You have to use your creativity and then you could
make last cool of stuff.
Nathalie: Exactly, let’s get started.
Miranda: Okay. So, we’re going to make the chocolate one first and I am using a----
Nathalie: Brushes for your body.
Miranda: Right.
Nathalie: Okay.
Miranda: Right, so your body so---- it’s like you know because you get those dry winner
months and your----
Nathalie: Especially around area.
Miranda: You need the oil but this, it’s get to really foot free in the shower so we should tell
you that if you’re using at just caution when you’re in the shower because we
don’t want for me to craft and I’m going to open. Okay so, I am using a recipe
from Stacie at Park Avenue and she has the blog at parkavenue-
stacie.blogspot.com. And that’s where you can find this recipe so I am not taking
incredible for the rest team.
Nathalie: Okay. So, you are going to start with either a half of cup of white sugar or you
can use absent salt if you want to make a salt scrub and you can also use this
large, larger granule cincture. So Miranda you want to ---- just put about a half of
cup into your mixing bowl.
Miranda: Do you have a measuring cup?
Nathalie: No, we are just going to balance.
Miranda: Here, if you need cup.
Nathalie: Half a cup?
Miranda: About half a cup yeah.
Nathalie: That’s smell good.
Miranda: They small good? Oh ready its smell good. Yeah, that’s looks good and then we
are also using empty here we are going to be using plastic measurement but you
can use --- this is the tablespoon. So you are going to have three, put three
tablespoon of the cocoa in there and this is just something that you can find in
your baking aisle. You are going to put, now I am using cinnamon spice ground
coffee and this because for cinnamon in that mug and I just some kind a like it.
Let’s skip in that step because I am using cinnamon coffee. So, tablespoon of
coffee ground so what we are doing for mixing the dry ingredients first and then
we are going to add the oil after that.
Nathalie: Can we make cooking out of this tool?
Miranda: No, a call for a pinch of nutmeg and you can use ---- what this have is actually
pumpkin price spice has cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg all spice in. Right, you can
add this if you want to or I don’t know it’s getting a nice little like cinnamon or---
Nathalie: That’s smells good.
Miranda: Just like sprinkle to add in there that’s good. Alright then we are going to our oil
so what I used last year when I made this was sunflower oil and the reason I used
sunflower is because it’s not very expensive and it doesn’t have a smell at all. The
olive oil has a little bit of more of the smell to it but you can use olive oil. Some
people have even use cooking oil but three to four table spoons of that.
Nathalie: Okay, what do you prefer, three or four? It’s like three and half.
Miranda: Yes, well in time what you can do is like try it like mix with apple a little bit and
see what the consistency is and if you want to add more then you can add more
under specialized right there if you want to. Here you want more?
Nathalie: We probably are going to need a little bit more.
Miranda: A little bit more okay.
Nathalie: Just a little bit.
Miranda: And you can use this if you want and that using your craft.
Nathalie: Yeah.
Miranda: Now, we need our jar.
Nathalie: Its smells delicious as all I know.
Miranda: And then you just put it right in there. Now, we probably could make another, like
another full batch.
Nathalie: Yeah.
Miranda: That’s like to be enough so let’s do them.
Nathalie: How long do you know how long this stays? Four or?
Miranda: I give it as a gift last year and people are still using it.
Nathalie: Oh okay. Now Miranda we have trouble it will be four or making enough in that
we have to damp on the craft mount then. Alright so our one is done and in the jar
our second one we are going to do---- now if your not while about the at chocolate
you can buy like a essential from like whole foods there are house food store and
then you can make it.
Miranda: You can make it more.
Nathalie: Yeah you can make it your own scent and you can also color it if you want to.
Like we are going to make green one today because we are going to use some of
the ICI new paper to decorate to jar and then everything coordinate.
Miranda: Oh cool.
Nathalie: So for this one let’s use the salt. So half the cup of abscond salt and you can do
the same thing in your sugar if you want. And this came x-ray from
markstuart.com because you can took twice of that.
Miranda: That’s why I put a little bit; I think that is about of covering.
Nathalie: Right. How much of black?
Miranda: I put all the rest because it’s almost.
Nathalie: It’s all in there, okay. Then let’s use the olive oil at this time and we want like a
table spoon of olive oil so just dump the quick, the dump to the next. Then the
good thing about olive oil is it like the only one of the only natural oil that you
can put on your face and it won’t clog your pores.
Miranda: I did not know that.
Nathalie: Yeah. If you to restore that around, and see how you like the consistency and then
you can add more oil if you need too.
Miranda: And there we are we are going to need more.
Nathalie: A little bit oil, okay. Now, you can also add this essential oil and make your own
scented lotion. Last year I bought which are really good moisturize and it’s
unscented and then I scented it base where that’s I give it to you.
Miranda: Girl you like Mark Stuart.
Nathalie: I wish.
Miranda: So then we are just going to hot like one drop of this essential and this is like a
rose scented so I will just put a tiny bit now and it will pipe out and then you’re
going to do one drop.
Miranda: That’s right, you tell Miranda dropped she put 10 times. No just kidding.
Nathalie: Miranda you have a great job.
