Hello, YouTube and welcome to TKSHD season three. Yeah, this time we’re kicking it in the high gear new tutorials, advance editing, everything. So welcome to season three. I’m your host tech kid 4473. And today I’m going to show you some of the not very popular things of YouTube but its really starting to go around. And what that is, is this caption on YouTube. Now what you're probably thinking is well there’s an imitation that you can use but I'm talking about that. I'm talking about real captions that you can activate.
So there is a really easy way to edit them and I'm going to show you right now how to do that. I’ve already tested it on one of my videos and I was my—no, I have the Mario video. I'm sorry, hang on. It was my intro, there it is. I'm talking about this one, watch this. This little button right here activates captions and here is the caption right here. Hello, I'm just processing the caption that was me.
Okay, so what you're going to first going to do is you're going to go to YouTube.com obviously you're going to sign in to your YouTube account if you have one already. And you're going to go all the way down. Oh I guess you can’t do it on your home, okay there it is. Finally it just came up, I actually learned it. Don’t make fun of me.
Anyways, right here down in YouTube you're going to click test tube which is where they keep all their datas and everything. And they're newest data is Caption Tube. Now what this is, is it is an easy caption editor that is similar to Windows Moviemaker or the imitations editor. And what happens is you sign in with your Google account which I'm going to do right now. It’s been a long day. Okay, so I’ve already got two of them right here but I'm going to show you how you would do yours.
You're going to import a video for captioning, so you're going to click personal video. Now make sure your YouTube account is associated with your Google account before you do this. Okay, so I'm going to pick my, let’s do the Mario Head video. So what you're going to do is your just going to click on the video which will actually change that little bubble right there, slide all the way back down and click import. Okay, then you're going to find that video, click edit and wait for it’s load. Okay, then you can click play. It’s going to baffle the video real quick for you. Now, I did the captions in imitations but just look purely stupid. So I’m going to go right here to the beginning the current time, set this to the beginning or where I want this. You're going to actually add the caption, start time. I'm going to put in the very beginning, caption text. Hello, it’s me Mario. There we go and that’s going to go and you can play it to make sure—and it’s automatically going to set the duration for it. So “Hello, it’s me Mario” stop, okay. That current time right there you can just take it and put it in three, five, zero, six, save the caption.
Now, I'm only going to do one, so that way—because of the time that I have in this tutorial. You're going to take that and you can preview the video too, but I'm not sure if the captions will actually preview. I’ve haven’t got any luck with that. So anyways, just keep on doing that and do all the captions you need to with your video and then you're going to save your captions if needed and then export captions. Okay, now what you want to do is download the caption as a file then export in the sub-rip format. Then you're just going to download now. It’s going to download the file called default. So I'm going to do that, save the file and see if it is downloading.
If I do it right? Okay, I’m going to save the file, right. Okay, there we go. Okay, so it downloaded. So then what we do is click finished, and click the exit button and go back to YouTube.com. Sorry slow internet like I said, don’t worry its getting upgraded so that way this tutorials will be faster. Then you're going to go to you’re My Video Section of your account or you can go to that video and click edit, captions and titles, but I'm doing it this way. So I want to go to the one that I edited which will be my first Mario at video, this one, okay. I'm going to click edit. Don’t worry it gets upgraded to five or 7.5 mega bits per second, May 23rd. So if you're viewing this on May 23rd which I highly doubt, check out my other videos I guess or after May 23rd.
Okay, so then what you're going to do ones you get in here, you're going to click up in the tabs, captions and subtitles. Okay this is where that file comes in that we just downloaded. You're going to click browse and browse for that file that you downloaded. Mine would be default three because I’ve downloaded three captions box. It would be this one, okay. Select to track language which would probably be English and the track name—you don’t need but I'm going to put Mario Head English, upload this one—this shouldn’t take long, even on my internet.
Okay, so it’s done. Now if we go to this video, down, down, down, down, down, here it is, click it. Now when you watch it, captions I already have enabled and it finish it all right down here. “Hello, it’s me Mario”. And let’s wait for the video to play there we go.
Now there is also cool thing you can do with this, that’s very easy and the reason caption is helped a lot because it helps the span of your videos. Let me just show you what you can do. You can click right here and then translate it’s a bit but it works. You're going to translate the English to say Spanish. Let’s find Spanish right here, translate and look at this watch. You can watch the beginning again [Foreign Language], so it just translated my captions to another language.
So it’s really easy and plus you get to span across more countries in cases not that popular and it really helps get the views of your videos up and just helps your channel across.
