How to Make Cerkez Kabagi Part 1/2
Now that we’ve waited for our zucchini to cool off, it’s time to add the rest of our ingredients. So, what we can do is just crush our garlic and I like to crush it rather than chop it because this way, it blends in there a lot easier. So, just sear a little bit of garlic and then we’re just going to add in the rest of our ingredients. Now, there’s no specific order to this so you could just add them add them in all at once and we want our walnuts. And the walnuts, you can use one of those like mini food processors, that’s a great way to get them really nicely crushed and have our scallions and here’s where I use the breadcrumbs.
Now if you wanted to, you can use fresh bread as well. You can use like the French or the Italian bread; the inside, just like a few slices, and I’ll make it really nice and thick. And of course, we’ll add just a little bit of salt. And you wanted just to mix these together and again, this is a great appetizer, served at room temperature or even cold. You could see all the ingredients, have it’s like blending together really nicely. And is really fast, it’s really easy. And zucchini is great, who doesn’t like zucchini? It’s a great flavor just that little hinge of garlic is already bringing up such a great aroma. I can’t wait to dip some bread in here right? So you see, it’s like the right consistency; you just want to give that a really good mix together. And then we can get our serving platter which I have right here. And you could just put in your serving platter and then cover it, put it in the fridge and get ready for when people come over. In a Turkish home, anytime you’re invited to dinner, you’ll always see an abundance of appetizers; whether it’s fresh vegetables or pickles or different kinds of dip or fresh bread like really hot, delicious, Turkish pide bread. It’s not the Arabic pita which you may know which is like pita; like p, i, t, a; but it’s pide; p, i, d, e; and it’s fluffy when it’s hot, it’s so good, so doughy, you just want to dip everything in it.
Sometimes it’s even great eating it plain. Especially when you go to Turkish restaurants, they’ll always bring some hot, fresh pide bread. It’s delicious. This is coming together really quite nicely. It was very easy and the yogurt just gives it a great, light green color; and you could see why they want to peel my zucchini; because you could see the abundance of the dark green and now it’s time for our garnish. Just a little bit of sauce; really nice hot and again like I said, you can mix in a little red, hot pepper as well. Just drizzle it all on top, oh it’s going to be delicious. Just need a little bit and unlike later on those people who are putting on their plates, they want a little extra, you can add it; but this is our fast, simple and delicious appetizer. It’s a zucchini and walnut dip. I know you you’ll really going to enjoy it. Now, I’m going to check and start adding the rest of our vegetables.
