Mellanie: Hi, my name is Mellanie and I live in Bradenton, Florida. I’m going to make something called cherry napoleon with my grand children and this is my daughter and my grand children.
Haley: Hi Mellanie.
Caleb: I’m Caleb.
Mellanie: Okay, we have two cups of graham cracker crumbs and Caleb is going to help me pour them in. Now Haley is going to pour a third of a cup of butter in here for me, alright, good job. Haley can you pour that out for me too.
Haley: Okay. Well, I want to taste that.
Mellanie: We will taste it in a minute. Now, we’re going to mix them all together. Caleb, will you help me do that. Now we’re going to get two thirds of our crust, we’re not going to use the whole thing. Put it in the bottom. Two cups of heavy cream. Now half a cup of powdered sugar and a teaspoon of vanilla and we’re good. That’s all we need in this one.
Two cups of marshmallows. And then we do what you call folding. Now let me show you how. You scoop and then fold, scoop and then fold. You want to try it?
Haley: Scoop and fold.
Mellanie: Now, we’re going to put it in here. Not all of it though, I’m going to put half of it in and then we’re going to spread it out kind of smooth, as smooth as we can, it doesn’t have to be perfect because we’re going to put cherries on top of it.
Caleb: Oh, cherries.
Mellanie: We’ll need a 16 ounce can of cherry pie filling. We’re going to take the rest of our graham stuff and then scoop it on the top again and then we’ll spread it out so it looks yummy, sometimes the cherry is like to pick through. Okay, we’re going to take it with our fingers and then loosen it up and then make a top crust kind of and then we take it over and then we put it in the refrigerator.
Here we go and now, it just going to chill for three to four hours and we’ll be ready to eat it.
