Today we’re going to make a two-course meal for your family with two ingredients that you may not expect: Dried beef and Ramen noodles.
We’re going to make my favorite chicken casserole ever. It’s fabulous, it’s easy and it only has six ingredients, and we’re going to take home the Ramen noodle. I know these are about seven for a dollar and usually when you’re low on funds, but we’re going to take these and turn them into a gourmet salad.
The ingredients you’re going to need for the chicken casserole dish are; chicken breast, bacon to wrap around your chicken, dried beef, cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup and an eight ounce container of sour cream.
Let’s get started. First thing I’m going to do is pre-heat my oven to 350. Alright, well that’s get and warm up. We’re going to start with our recipe. I’m going to get my chicken breast out, open the package and I’m going to wrap a piece of bacon around each chicken breast. Up right, I will use about four chicken breasts you can use however many you want and then I’m going to open my bacon so we can wrap it around there. You can use a whole piece of bacon or a half as a half of this slice whichever you prefer. This is the best recipe and my mom used to make it every Sunday almost after church because we were begged here to make it.
Okay, I’m going to wrap the bacon. You can wrap it like this. You can secure with the toothpick if you want too, but you don’t really need to. I forgot one thing first, the most important thing with our dried beef. Yes, wonder but we’re going to do and this is what it is. We’re going to line our casserole with it first. We’re just going to over lap it in our casserole, so this is the base and it has a pretty good taste after it’s being cooked for a while back to the chicken. I’m not going to put it to bacon you can if you want too. It doesn’t really matter the bacon is going to stay on there. You’re going to be so surprise because this is so easy and then it’s very tasty. And it’s moist oh! It’s so good when it comes out the oven. You’ll going to love this. It’s going to be yes its new favorite Sunday dish.
I served it over rice. You don’t have too, but after we put all the soup and everything in there. We’re using cream of mushroom kind of cream of chicken soup or cream of celery, and eight ounces of sour cream. You can use no fat, light or just regular whichever kind you like the best so. I’m using a half of that, mix it up a little bit. You don’t really have to mix if you don’t want to its fine. And then we’re just going to pour it on, on top of our chicken. If you want the salt and pepper your chicken before you can do that, but it really this is a taste you don’t need to. Okay and all this are going to make lots of sauce, and that’s why I put mine on rice when I get finish. So there we have it.
Alright, so it’s on 350 putting it in and we’re going to bake it for about 45 minutes to one hour. I’ve already wash my hands be sure you wash yours before and after handling that chicken. Let’s start making our rice. I like to use instant rice. You can also use brown rice if you want to be healthier or you can use a long grain rice just make sure you follow those directions according to their package. I know some of you all are still picking that dried beef in the jar you’re lower about it bit. It smelling good in here it starts and fill the room is good I promise.
All right, let’s see what these rice directions say. I’m going to make six serving, so let me get my pot and I’m going to need three cups of water and three cups of rice. How easy is that? That far like instant. Alright, and we just put this on until it boils, and then I’m going to add my rice and cover it up for five minutes, and it’s ready. So you can just do this the last few minutes before your chicken is ready, and it all be ready at the same time. Three cups to match the water, three cups of water three cups of rice, and that’s about taking care of put our lid on and we are finished.
I’ve got my chicken and rice cooking, and now I’m going to start on my salad. The items you’re going to need for this gourmet Ramen noodles salad are; Romaine lettuce, about a cup of walnuts, some green onions, raw broccoli, sugar, soy sauce, olive oil or vegetable oil, and lastly, red wine vinegar, and don’t forget the fabulous Ramen noodles.
We’re going to make our own dressing for this, and it is very tasty and easy. Probably lots they all eat Ramen noodles in college. I know I did. We still eat them, my children loves them. Now, I finish cutting out my vegetables, so next I’m going to get my walnuts and my noodles and my butter and brown them on the oven. You’re going to crunch the Ramen noodles, and then we’re going to put one cup of walnuts and I just got the one that pieces.
While we’re letting this brown on the oven we can go back to the table and make our salad dressing. The first thing I’m going to put in is one cup of oil. I’m going to add one cup of sugar then I’m going to need one half cup of red wine vinegar. I need about three teaspoons of soy sauce I’m just can do a few dashes in here to how much I think that is. Then I’m going to pour in my lettuce mixture. My mixture from the oven, Ramen noodles and walnuts they are all brown and crispy. Okay, I’m just getting everything mixed in really well before I put my dressing on there.
Alright, and now I’m going to pour on some of my dressing. Ready to go, it looks good. Here goes the taste test. Very good that’s the first of our two course meal with two weird ingredients that you wouldn’t expect, and now let’s get that chicken out and see how fabulous it is. It’s so nice and bubbly. It’s been in there one hour. Oh! It smells really good. Let’s plate it up and check it out. I’ll get that dried beef you’ll see that in there put it over it. And I like some extra juice on top of them especially with that rice.
