Today I am going to teach you how to make homemade chicken wings with two different sauces. These stand favorites are great for any game.
Hi! I am Caitlin with Cooking with Caitlin, and today we are at Findlay Market in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today I am going to teach you how to make chicken wings with two sauces. If you want to try your own sauces I recommend finding your favorite grill seasoning or favorite rub and all that with a stick the butter and toss them with your chicken wings. Let's get cooking.
Hi! I am Caitlin and welcome to Cooking with Caitlin. Today I am going to teach you the best game day recipe ever, fried chicken wings. With two different sauces, a wild, wild west sauce with dried ranch seasoning and a hot classic bar wing sauce. For your classic bar sauce, you want to use your favorite hot sauce, and then a little bit of honey and some sugar. And for your extra sauce, a stick the butter and two packets of the dry ranch seasonings.
The very first step is you're going to preheat your oven to 400 degrees. I like to bake the chicken first to make sure that it's completely cooked. And then I like to throw it on the grill or just pan fry a little bit to get that nice crispy crust. While your chicken is cooking, I like to prepare the first sauce. We'll do the classic bar sauce.
In a mixing bowl you just want to combine about a couple of your favorite hot sauce with about a quarter cup of honey, it cuts the heat and it adds a little bit of sweetness. And then about another quarter cup of sugar, here we go. And you just make sure the fork is inside that side. Once you're finished with your spicy sauce, you can just set that aside.
Next is the wild, wild west sauce. It's kind of inspired by my favorite restaurant, called Wild Wing in Charleston, South Carolina. You just want to take one stick of butter, two packets of dry ranch seasoning; you can usually find it on the top shelf of the grocery store. And then throw it all in the microwave for about a minute until the butter melts.
Once the butter is completely melted the sauce is almost ready. You just want to take your fork and whisk it together and then set it aside until your chicken is ready.
Once your chicken is golden brown and the skin starts to get crispy and the juice is running clear your chicken is finished. You want to pull it out and start to have a small fry pan with some -- a little bit of olive oil heat it to about medium high heat, so you can start to crisp up this again. Once your pan is hot, you just want to put them in, let them crisp up, be careful not to get burned. You always want to be careful whenever you are dealing with oil and frying things because the oil tends to pop up at you. If you're really afraid of the oil, you can always grill these and that'll be just as great.
After the chicken has cooked for about a minute on each side or until the skin gets really crusty, they are finished. Then you just want to throw into the sauce, and toss them around. After everything is coated perfectly, you want to plate and serve and enjoy. These are great with fruit beer.
