Guacamole and chili go perfectly together. The only thing is it is high in calorie, so it’s a good idea to watch your portions. I consider an ideal portion about and eight to a quarter of an avocado. And another thing about avocado is you can use it as a spread. It’s so creamy you can just spread it on sandwiches and it’s not only fat, it’s not only this heart healthy fat, but it is also is literal with potassium, fiber, so it’s so much more than just fat.
Then it’s easy like this because you could just scoop it right into the bowl. That looks so delicious. I just love the color of avocado. It’s beautiful. Avocado is also loaded with folic acid which is good for you heart and also something you want to have if you’re pregnant or thinking about getting pregnant.
Now to keep this from getting brown, immediately I’m going to add some lime juice because that citric acid helped prevent it from getting brown. So these are nice big juicy limes. I want to add about a tablespoon and a half of lime juice. I think in this case it will just be one lime. But depending on your limes, you might need two. This looks like a nice and juicy one. Just combine that well, that will keep it nice and bright. This is a dish you also kind of want to make more or less at the last minute before your guest arrive, but the lime juice will help keep it nicely for a little while.
Cilantro, kicky ingredient and sort of a love and hate kind of thing. I happened to love it. It smells unbelievable. I can smell this actually from the other side of the kitchen. I’m just using a quarter cup and I’m chopping it kind of coarsely because I like to see those big chunks in there, just these different greens together look gorgeous and the smell is unbelievable.
Then some red onion for color and snap, and we just get his on a serving bowl. This looks fantastic. I cannot wait to taste it. It’s zesty, it’s fresh, creamy, it is ready for a party and so am I.
