Nothing enhances the ambience or aesthetic of a room more than good lighting. Your home source of a illumination sets the tone for your space. This week we are gong to explore the ins and outs of DIY lighting. Suspended lanterns add an interesting dynamic in our wonderful lamp creating a more intimate space. This orange paper lantern really made our kitchen cozier. Paper lanterns come in a platter of colors, shapes and sizes. You can find plenty to choose from at PearlRiver.com or at the aptly named paperlanternstore.com. Hanging your own pendant lantern is easy. You can find the cord a local hardware store. Position your pendant over the focal point of your room at the appropriate height. Not too low, just screw some small hooks into the ceiling to suspend your cords. Be sure to use energy saving light bulbs and power strips to turn off when not in use. And whala! You have created a high design for the low budget. For more info, check out my blog Nest. I have a lighting section for you and a full green guide.
Good design is all about details. A simple light switch cover replacement adds a nice touch to any room. You can find some rad examples at RobotCAndy and Tatty7. Some of my favorite sources for lovely lighting are Dutch Designer, Tord Boontje and his magical paper cut pendants. Adam Frank for these beautiful oil lamps. HoneysuckleCreations for this killer vintage slide shades and my all time favorite, Etsy shop, sidedish with this great owl lamp. And when we return enlightening tips doing projects.

Boring Lamp Shade
S we have this old lampshade that came off this little lamp shade that came official lamp that grandmother gave us and it is all apart and we have pretty colorful real doing out here so we have decided that we are going to take this fabric and turn our lamp shade into a new really, funking 70’s inspired lampshades. We will start by ripping this side. It will take you a while you might want to unhook it. So now, we have all the fabric off and it feels some strain and a some glue and a little bit of fabric that we could not get off. I am just going to take a girls nail brush and just kind of dust, back and forth in grain with this fabric hemp glue. Every lampshade has a line it so that is how they have put it together, so that is how they have put it together, so what we are going to do is remake that as our spot.

I just want to sit there here, that I am in placed right now, and I an just going to cut, I will keep five that you will not hit probably about a half inch to and inch fracture on the outside so that you fold in and glue inward. So now, you cut void or where it -- and what we will make -- it will be the iron ring. So now you want to flush up your fabrics so that the design of it that you want showing is when we face the dollor and what we are going to do is in the -- where did -- careful you will burn yourself with the hot glue. You do not give it on the man in Indore have thinking off fabric.
Now, you just go in through and doing the same idea on the above. Alright, no we are going to clean it up because it is not the were are just a going round to Paul and the lightly see the members. Cool day at the fair.
