Jennifer: So now, it’s time to serve our soup. We’ve been letting it settle as our fish is getting nice and crispy. We could already see it’s like a rich, thick, creamy soup. It’s so good. You can even smell the aromas coming up. I know there’s going to be nothing left of this. You’re probably going to make like four servings. It’s so delicious. And of course, every time I like to garnish my soup, I think fresh mint always gives it the best complement.
At Turkey, we use soup with everything. We eat it traditionally at the start of every meal and we can make soup out of everything; spinach, chicken, peas and red lentils; that’s a very big famous one and of course, tomato soup. It’s going to go great with the rest of our dish.
Before we get ready to serve our fish, I’m going to do a really quick and easy, delicious, curly lettuce salad. It’s crispy. It’s fun and it’s the perfect complement to the rest of our meal.
Female: I think Turkish food is unique because of how it’s prepared and how it’s served. The Turkish people are very particular about how each dish is made.
Female 2: The reason I like Turkish cuisine so much is because it is simple. They don’t drown the ingredients in sauces.
Male: It’s delicious and the food is very healthy, really, that’s the beauty. Turkish food is good and it’s healthy.
Female 3: I overeat every time I go to Turkey but I never feel unhealthy about it because everything I’m eating, I feel like it was just made that morning or just picked that afternoon out of the market.
Male 2: So to me, Turkish food is; number one, it’s delicious, number two, it’s healthy and number three, it is interesting because it comes from so many different cultures that have influenced its creation.
