The key to great fajitas is a great marinade. Hi I’m Chef Jason Hill and today I want to share with your and easy fajita marinade that you can make at home that uses easy and find ingredients.
This fajita marinade works great with beef or chicken and it doesn’t contain high fructose consort like some of the bottled brands you’ll find at the store. So lets gets started, first you need a couple of water in a bowl, got a teaspoon of oregano, a teaspoon each of white and pepper and sea salt. Teaspoon each of cumin and chili powder, a pinch of cloves, tablespoon of the garlic shallot puree or you could used about four crushed cloves of garlic, quarter cup of red wine vinegar and a half a cup of extra virgin olive oil.
Also were going to chop up a little bunch of cilantro, you need the juice of one orange and one lemon.
Before I juice my citrus, I always roll them back and forth a few times. This helps the juice extraction. Okay, let’s add the lemon juice to the water, the reason I do this I catch the seeds so they don’t go into the marinade.
All right, after you add the juice to the water, add the rest of your ingredients and you’re going to do the oil last. Now after all the ingredients are in there you final step is to start whisking and slowly pour in the extra virgin olive oil.
Wow that’s smells really good, now I’m going to let this sit about 30 minutes before I use it and when you do your marinating, marinade your beef or chicken for at least 30 minutes, thanks for tuning in.
