Fajita recipes are fun to prepare because they combine grilling and saut?ing. Today steak fajita recipe, we’ll use a homemade fajita marinade that will bring rave views you’re your family and friends.
Hi I’m Chef Jason Hill, I’ve got about a pound of flat meat right here that I did marinade in the refrigerator for about an hour. To get the fajita marinade recipe, just click on my video fajita marinade. It works work with both beef and chicken now lets go hit the grill.
The reason I like to use flat meat is because it’s holds up well to the marinade and does great on the grill, it loves the high heat and that’s what you want, you want to cook this on high. I’m going to throw this on there, we’re going to go back inside and chop up our onion and bell pepper.
To slice your bell pepper, just go right down the center with your knife and then peel off the seeds, set aside, remove some of the flesh from the inside. And to cut into strips, you want to cut from the side if you turn it over you’ll notice if you try and slice from the outside, your knife has a harder time going into the pepper.
There are a few ways to slice you dice onion. For fajitas, I like this method. First I remove the root in, them the stem, set it up right and just cut right in half. Set one in the side, peel off the outer layer, now I just slice into thin strips. After I place the steak on the grill I can inside and wrap it about four to six corn tortillas and some foil, I’m going to put this on the top shelf and turn the steak.
Want to put this on the top shelf, I’m going to go and turn the steak, you got to want about five to eight minutes on each side. Okay, the steak is done were going to go ahead and remove it and the tortillas head back inside and slice the steak.
Now before slicing your meat, let it rest for a few minutes after you pull it off the grill. When slicing you steak into thin strips make sure you’re going to go against the grain. You can see the grain in the muscle flowing this way and you want your knife to go right across that.
Next I grab my saut? pan and I’m going to preheat it on high. Okay after about a minute I pour in a couple of tablespoons of vegetable oil then I add some peppers and onions.
After about two minutes, I’m going to add some of the steak. And pour in about two tablespoons of the marinade. And we’ll let that cook for about another minute. Okay after about a minute you can see your peppers are still firm, that’s what you want, you don’t want to overcook your fajita’s.
All right lets assemble this awesome fajita’s. I just place a little bit on each tortilla like this and then we’re going to top with some fresh homemade guacamole.
