Anthony: Welcome to the Art of the Drink video podcast, my name is Anthony Caporale. And this week, we are working with a new Drink Art girl Julie.
Julie: Hi everybody.
Anthony: Now unfortunately, because we have been on break, Julie is only going to be with us for one week, but I am hoping we could be able to get her back and do a whole month to herself, what do you think?
Julie: Definitely.
Anthony: All right, cool. So October, last week in October, we got to do a drink for Halloween, right?
Julie: Of course.
Anthony: So, the obvious one is the zombie.
[Music Playing]
And, this was also a drink that I got by request. One of our fans emailed me and asked me to do a zombie and I said sure. So, I am going to be emailing that lucky fellow a free download link to my Art of the Drink Volume One DVD.
Julie: Nice offer.
Anthony: Yes, you can get it on Amazon. So, go ahead and keep sending me the request. Anything that we use on the podcast, I will go ahead and send you a download, a free download link to the DVD, which by the way, I just found out this week, we have been number one on Amazon for bartending DVDs for awhile, we have been the best selling bartending DVD on the Amazon.
Julie: Congratulations!
Anthony: Thank you. And I just found out this week, out of over 200 cooking DVDs, we are number 18.
Julie: You do not cook.
Anthony: I know, I do not know. You type in cooking and our DVD comes up. So, if you are a DVD distributor out there, and we are doing all of these without marketing. So, if you want to make some money, give me a call, get me in Wal-Mart, get me in Target and we will see what we can do because we are beating wine for dummies right now.
All right, so, let us go ahead and make this drink. I am going to make this drink in a hurricane glass.

Because a lot of the ingredients are very similar to a hurricane, it is a rum drink with a lot of fruit juices in it so you want the volume and I also think hurricane glasses are really pretty.
Julie: Yes, they look nice and because of the girly aspects.
Anthony: Exactly, not that it is a girly drink; it is the zombie. But anyway, all right, so we are going ahead; as always, a big scoop of ice is what we are going to do. So, we start with a big scoop of ice and I am going to put one ounce of light rum to get us started and then one ounce of gold rum and my viewers know I like gold rum.
Now, the ingredient that kind of separates it from some of the other rum fruit drinks is apricot brandy and just a half ounce of apricot brandy and now a ton of fruit juices going on this. So, I am going to do an ounce of pineapple juice, an ounce of guava nectar, good stuff, and an ounce of mango nectar and that takes us almost to the top.
Now, I am going to kind of brighten up the flavors a little bit with a squeeze of fresh lime juice and that is just half a lime that I go ahead and I squeeze right in there and I am also going to put lemon, juice of half of lemon and again, that is going right in.
Julie: It take some muscles.
Anthony: Yes, a little bit, but if you go ahead and you get some lemon seeds in there, that is okay, you get that nice tea all the time. The fresh juice is like I said, they really wake the flavors up a lot and they kind of bring the drink to life. So now, all of this goes into my mixing tin and you could see the ice got a little stuck in there. The reason for that is I am using crushed ice today. Normally, I use cubed ice, but for this drink, I am using crushed ice and the reason is that it makes it—gives the texture a little bit more similarity to a frozen drink. The crushed ice actually—it helps aerate the drink and it actually makes it a little bit closer to a frozen drink and I like that with this rum and fruit drinks.
Julie: Oh yes, definitely.
Anthony: So now, I am going to shake this up really good and all of our subscribers now, you have to shake until the tin frosts. I am not even going to bother saying that, I will just go ahead and do it. All right, so now, this is nice and frothy and the tin is ice col
