Welcome to tinkernut.com video cast in this video I will show you how you can use your computer to make free inbound calls using free software. The first thing you will need is a grand central account at GrandCentral.com and then the second thing you will need is a program called gizmo at www.GizmoProject.com. So the first thing you would want to do is go to www.GizmoProject.com and download your free program. Now this is basically just a program kind of like sky where you can use it to make phone calls to other computers for free and other phones for minimal charge and it also provides you with a phone number which is what we are going to use it for. So what you will need to do is download it and then just follow the instructions to install it.

Once it is installed you will need to create an account and you can do that directly from the program itself so just create a username and password and type in your email address and then enter the security code and read the terms of agreement and then you will be able to create a free account for gizmo. And then once you log in what you want to do is go to edit in my profile and then find the SIP number. You are going to use this number. It should be a phone number you are going to use it to put it into your grand central account so the next thing you want to do is go to GrandCentral.com and it is in beta version so it is not open to the public as of yet. But, what you can do is reserve a phone number and you can do it from any area code so if there is a place where you want local calls you can choose that area code and then just reserve your phone number.
If you do not get an invite from grand central themselves, you can also go to grandcentralinvite.com and apply for an invitation as well and if that does not help, what you can do is go to inviteshare.com. And just sign up for grand central or you could sign up for some of there other cool programs that are invitational in only as well.
So with those three options you should be able to get an invitation and once you do just go back to grand central and log in and once you log in you can go to the settings and add an edit to number and here you can add as many phone numbers as you want cell phone home phones. But what we are going to do is add a gizmo phone so select gizmo from the drop down box and then enter that SIP number that we found earlier from the gizmo program and then just type in any generic name for whatever you want to call it and then just save those settings. Then what you will want to do is simply just call your grand central number and it should automatically forward it to your gizmo account and you can do this from any phone.
