This recipe was originally conceived as a way to use up stale bread. Today, it’s involved into delicious addition to any breakfast or brunch. I’m Rebecca Braden and welcome to watchmojo.com. And today, I’ll be showing you how to make Honeyed French Toast.
Now for this recipe, you’ll need two eggs slightly beaten, half a cup of plain or vanilla yogurt, two tablespoons of honey, a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon, four slices of bread, and four tablespoons of softened butter.
The first step is to combine the eggs, one tablespoon of the honey, the cinnamon, and the yogurt and then we mix. Now, the next step is to dip the bread evenly on both sides in the egg mixture. Now, you have to be careful not to leave it in there too long or else the bread will fall apart. Another way to prevent the bread from falling apart is by using slightly staled bread. Now, we’ll need two tablespoons of the butter in a frying pan so we can sauté the bread two to three minutes each sides. You want to really keep an eye on the color of the bread on the under side when you’re cooking it because you don’t want it to burn. Now, while we’re waiting for the bread to sauté, we’re going to mix the remaining butter and honey to make a honey butter to serve with it.
Now for presentation, we can do a couple of things. Here, I’ve cut the bread into rounds and put some banana in the middle of the sandwich and of course we’ve topped it with our honey butter. And here, we’ve just basically topped it with honey butter and some ice and sugar.
