Jason Hill: If you like asparagus and are looking for some great asparagus recipes you will be disappointed by today’s simple preparation.
Hi! I’m Chef Jason Hill. A lot of folks are intimidated by how to cook asparagus, but it’s really quite simple. In my opinion, grilled asparagus is the most simple and best way to prepare these stems, which are great compliment to meats, seafood, chicken or pasta. When choosing your asparagus, look for firm stalks and tips that are tightly closed. To prepare and grow the asparagus, I first rinse the stalks; next I cut off the bottom two inches of the stalks. Next I place the stalks in a large dish and drizzle two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil over the asparagus, coat well with the olive oil. In this recipe, I’m using 25 stalks of asparagus, now I sprinkle one tablespoon of lemon pepper over the asparagus and mix up. Here is a quick tip, if you have a lemon pepper has salt as the number one ingredient you’ll not need to salt your asparagus.
If you are showed on time, roast this asparagus is just as easy. Just follow this recipe and place in your oven at 425-degrees for about ten minutes and let’s see at the grill. Hi! Alright I have the grill preheated on high; I’m going to put this on socket more about five minutes. I’m going to close the liner about two or three minutes, I’m going to open it back up and give these a turn. Once the asparagus starts to get some charred marks them you know, they are close. I’m going to close the lid for about another minute and make sure it would be ready to go. All right, I think there are ready. Oh yeah, smell great. Now serve with your favorite dinner or chill the asparagus and cut them up for a greater dish into salad.
