Here’s a hot party tip for you. Bobbing for apples is really kind of gross but what are we suppose to do when it comes to having fun, holiday and party games. We’ll I’ll tell you what you’re supposed to do. You’re supposed to have make up your own. I’ve got some really cool ones to show you today, including scare crow races and ghost bowling, one of my favorites.
And the way we do this is we use a few two litter bottles and a basket ball. Now, first you want to gather up bottles you can dip to your own recycling, maybe your neighbors recycling or gather recycling center and just gather up a bunch of them.
The next thing you want to do is unscrew the lead, put in a few pebbles, maybe some sand. What you’re doing is you’re just trying to give a little weight to the bottom of your bottles. So once you’ve got and weight it down come over here and grab and use them acrylic paint and just paint your bottle.
If I take a couple of coats let it dry all the way in between. You’re just trying to get a nice opaque white so that it limits a bowling pin and to make it more a ghost like we took our small sponge brush and our black acrylic paint and put two little eyes on this guy.
So he looks like a bowling pin slash ghost and that’s the effect we’re going for. We’ve got our pins but now we need our bowling ball and that is where this little basket ball guide come is in. Now, we gave them a little jack o’ lantern face and we did that with the same little small paint brush and black acrylic paint that we use to give this guy eyes. Paint them all up and let them dry, and so all it’s left to do is take this out in the yard, set it up like a little bowling alley. Let the kids go and I guarantee this game a sure to be a strike.
Now, the bowling game is perfect for little kids but the scarecrow raise is what’s going to entertain the older crowd. What we tend here to make our scarecrow is we’ve got a broom. Now this going to act as our head and we have attached long dough of the arms and all we’ve done to attach the two parts is just using dock tape. And kind of wrap it around in a cross section but, we need to cover this broom part to give it a face and I’m going to use some burlaps to do that and some twine.
So burlaps you can just find it at your favorite store just going to wrap around his head and then you want to gather a little bit back here and we’re going to use our twine, wrap it around the base of the broom bristle, tie the knot.
Now, once you have your scarecrow built you need to build some outfits for them so just went out to the third store, dig to your closet and find some funny hats, ties, Hawaiian shirts whatever you can put your hands on and put them on two separate bottle and then our scarecrow is ready for the game. Give them to set an amount of time that begins with your stopwatch.
Tell the kids to have fun with them. And let them try to make this scariest, funniest and goofiest and scarecrow they can. You could even give them some markers and let them draw on the face. The parents can judge who has the winning scarecrow and they can get put right in the center for all to see. These two games are sure to be a Halloween hit.
