How to Make Handmade Mother's Day Cards

How to Make Handmade Mother's Day Cards Make a trendy card for the glam mom and the sweet card for the sentimental mom from Jeanne Benedict’s Ideasinfive.com. The heart on the sweet card is made from believe it or not toilet paper, 30 sheets, one teaspoon of glue and one quarter cup of hot water. Stir the glue in the water together. Pour over the toilet paper which you see is layered and stocked in a neat little pile. I use the plastic lollipop mold to make this heart but you can also use a plastic candy or soap mold as well which you can get at the craft store. Place the toilet paper over the mold and gently press down making sure that you get the paper down into the impressions of the mold. Let the heart dry completely and you can speed this process up by using a blow dryer. Carefully remove the heart from the mold. Cut around the heart shape. I chose a blue card and I’ll put a floor of vellum paper overlay on the card using double’s dictate. Use small pieces of tape as sometimes the tape shows through the vellum. I also found the vellum paper with nostalgic quotes like this one from Winnie the Pooh. If you lift to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you. That will be perfect little front of this card. Use white glue on the back of the heart to attach it to the front of the card. [Demonstration] I added a little bough as a final touch on the sweet card for mom. For the glam mom a bright card with sparkling accents. First, coordinate your materials using similar patterns, colors and styles. I cut the purple paper, a half inch less in length and width to the card and the yellow paper a half inch less in length and width to the purple paper and layered them on the card with double stick tape. I got this great vellum tack for the card which I’ll attach with many brads. Use a tack to poke a pilot hole through the tab, paper and card and then insert the brads. Then to back the prongs to secure, I use the little piece of glue dot to put some of the brad with a foe gem. And these crystal letter stickers are a great way to spell out mom on this trendy card.
