How to Make Homemade Tortilla Chips

Thomas: Hi, my name is Thomas and today we are going to be making tortilla chips. It will go great with the sauce that we made in the last episode, and I am sure you’re gonna love it. Before we get started you have to remember WASH. W stands for wash your hands and all your vegetables. A stands for ask permission by your parents. S stands for straighten up your workspace when you’re done, and H stands for have fun. That is the most important one of today. Alright, let’s get started, the first thing we gonna have to do is preheat the oven to 400 degrees, okay, that’s the first thing that we’re gonna have to do. Next, we’re going to have to pour our parmesan cheese into our bowl, alright now that the parmesan cheese’s in there, we’re gonna take our sesame seeds and pour that into our parmesan cheese. Alright, now that the sesame seeds are in there, we’re gonna take our paprika, and we’re gonna pour that in there. Alright, now we are going to take a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper and put it in there. Alright, let’s take our salt, pinch of that, more or less to taste, you can have how ever much you want. Now we’re gonna take some more pepper in there. That was perfect. And now that the pepper’s in there, we’ll mix it all together, coz all the ingredients are in there, alright, you wanna get all of the mixture together and evenly coated on everything, coz you don’t wanna have one spot that has more of something. I think it’s all mix up together. So now, what you’re gonna wanna do is take one of your tortillas, let’s this bowl aside for now, and put it on the table. And now, we’re going to take this brush and we’re going to dip into your bowls of butter that you have, and put this all over the tortilla, you wanna get it everywhere, now let’s turn it around and do the other side the same thing. Some more butter, this is gonna be really good. Now, that we have that on there, just put this down, and we’re gonna take the mixture that we made and we’re going to, with our hands, just pick a little pinch of it up and just sprinkle it around the tortilla, your fingers are gonna get a little dirty, so, after this, you must wash your hands, alright, that side is good. Now, let’s flip it over, makes sure you do it with both hands, so that you wont make a mess. Alright, now let’s flip this over, good, now let’s pour some more, spread this around a little, a little more. Okay, and now that that’s done, it’s all spreaded out evenly, we’re gonna take our knife, and we’re going to cut this in half, lengthwise, just like this. Alright, cut it in half, alright, it’s cut in half. Alright, cut it in half again, right there, same to the other half, cut it in half again, perfect. Alright, now, with each of these slices, we’re gonna cut it into triangles. So, we’re gonna go like this, half one more time, another time, alright, it’s perfect. Alright, let’s put that knife aside, so it doesn’t get in the way. Let’s pry all these apart, and now carefully pick them up and place them on to your non stick baking sheet. Just place them all, you can put, you can put them pretty close, just don’t have them touching, coz then they’ll stick together, you don’t want that to happen. Almost there, alright, that’s the last one. Now, I’m only doing one tortilla, but you guys can do as many more as want, it does not matter, all you have to do is double the recipe or triple the recipe, whatever you guys want to do, like if you’re having a party, your friends over, it doesn’t matter, but just double or triple the recipe and apply accordingly. Alright, now that we have it on the non stick baking sheet, we can put this in the oven that we preheated at 400 degrees. Alright, so you’re gonna wanna keep a close eye on them in the oven, and wait till they’re about golden brown, and when they are, take them out and place them on a cooling rack, so you don’t burn your thumb. After you do that you can serve it with guacamole or salsa, and I have salsa here, coz I love salsa, and I just made in the last episode, and then dig in, it’s gonna be great, thank you so much for watching, I am Thomas, and see you next time, I wanna try it now.
