Oh, yes! Here we go, I got my pieces of wood and this is the one that is going to go at the back of the cabinet and it is just the right size. Is it not this great? So, now what do we need to do. I need to measure that with the existing cabinet which is this. So, what I have done is I have taken my glazing medium and tinted it and I am just kind of going to stain this wood with this. It is an easy way to stain the wood and now I am going to put a quick coat on and let that dry. Then I want to be consistent. So, I am going to try and bring this close to what we have going on already in that cabinet.

And this is great. It really does seem to match pretty well. I am going to beat that up anyway but I do want to have it pretty close. Okay. I will let this dry completely and then I am going to come back and paint it up with the sander. What a great day! Is it not this wonderful? I got it matched in. Pretty darn close. is it not that perfect? Okay. Now, I am going to scratch this up with a bell sander. What I would like about this is actually have getting its pieces off. And they are pretty strong for-- it is easier for me to trash them or to really get some interest going in this set. Here we go, let us just do it.

What am I doing? I am just creating a bunch of scratches and gouges on this. Of course, we are going to be getting more of this stuff with the painting. We are going to put this together but I really need some gouges so that the color can really grab. Now, that I do not have any glass cabinet doors around, we can beat this up with some chains. I thought this will be kind of fun. I think you should give this a try and see what happens. This is just a good way to get those little indents in their wood. So, this is just kind of like. Whack it.

But you know what, that was just for fun. It really just would not work that well on a harder wood. So, use that when you want to abuse some time.

Okay. So, I am going to do whatever it takes to make this interesting and then we are going to come back install it and paint it to perfection.
