So here, what we have is this built in cabinet and she is just not happy with it. You know how on upstairs in this house you had seen me grip off the new wood and put up some really old doors in an old one. So here I am going to do the opposite, we are going to keep all these and I am just going to transform it into old looking wood. Isn’t this going to be fun? And you know what I have got some inspiration and it is this.
Okay. You see this frame? It is so perfect. I mean take a look at a close up, it’s just really got some wonderful stuff happening here its all bead up, scraped up, scratched. So I am going to try and make some of these. Look half a line here.
Okay. So let us get started and we are going to take this stuff out. Oh. One more thing, take a look at this, and she’s not happy with the crown up here, so it just does not work with, the plan that we have going on which is kind of old California look in this house and a mission feeling. So I am going to rip all these crown off and just make it a real simple piece of wood since we are beading up new wood. I am going to get some new wood I will bid it up and it will go all matched in the end and we are going to be very happy.
Okay. Get started. Oh yeah, going better. Now, here is the front part. So I am going to rip off this molding. Since we have bidding I am really not going to care too much about this and I just going to wag it off. Using our wonder bar? Okay and then this. You should just pull it right off.
Okay. Oh it was not too much hard. So we just like the simpler look. I think I am just going to get another larger board and extend it across the top and I get really plain which is just perfect for this style. So here comes the interesting part and that is I have got to beat this up. You know there is several ways we can do. A lot of times people use chains and they bang it against the stuff a bit, with some glass here I do not want to take out the glass really. Until when that I don’t really take out the glass right now. So we are going to work around it and so belt sanders always good. This tool just kind of doing well through everything so I am just going to just kind of keep sand this all over the place for the belt sanders you have in there and then I can also use hammer chisels always great. You know you can just kind of really get in there and scrape it. I could get in there chisel off some areas. Oh! This is kind of disturbing is it not? I can carve it beautifully nice, wood trashing it. So that is a couple of ways and I am just going to get started with this and see what happens. No, Yes. Let us go back to the belt sander. This is going to be fun.
What we have here. I am breaking rules. This is always interesting. Oh my gosh. I am little disturbing but see I am breaking few rules and I am just going to slide in the belt sander against the grim. We never go against the grim. Oh this is so exciting. We have a grim covered on this thing and its changing and evolving. So we are going to rip off these pieces and have just one big space. So you can just put some really cool art, this is really great. So I am going get through this off now.
Oh yes this has been a great fun has it not? Look what we have here. Alright it is ready to go and almost for next step. But you know I decided, we took this board down here in the second we got the sims and we were covering that up so I have to fix this and how am I going to do that? It is time we are going buy pieces or you know something like that, cut to that shape and then we just kind to glue it in there and that will be perfect. So I am going to buy that stuff and then buy the wood for the top and then we will come back and finish this most unusual project.
