Spring is almost here. As we await April’s arrival, let us pre-furnish with a little spring cleaning. A lot of cleaning supplies have toxins. They would get awfully close to us and those we love. In a comment left by videojay, the winner of methods home detox kit, he expressed how important green cleaning is to him. Many people feel the same, so this week we are going to learn how to make homemade cleaning supplies. They are organic, earth friendly and save you money.
For an all-purpose scrub, mix equal parts distilled white vinegar and salt. Scrub with a natural cloth. To store, keep it in a Tupperware container or a vintage glass vessel. If it does not already have a lid, just make one with a plastic bag and rubber band. For a natural glass cleaner, mix ¼ cup of distilled white vinegar, one table spoon of corn starch and 1 Qt. of warm water. Now carefully pour into a spray bottle. For an all-purpose cleanser that is gentle enough to use on antique wood, pour 1 or 2 table spoons of Dr. Bronner’s into a spray bottle filled with warm water, cover, shake, and spray. For a powerful anti-mold spray, combine just two drops of Tea Tree Oil and one cup of water. Pregnant women consult a physician about the usage of Tea Tree Oil. If you do not have time to mix your own try these earth friendly companies, Seventh Generation, Method and Mrs. Meyers all available at Drugstore.com. When we return, we have some very rad, before and after pictures of some of your spring cleaning.

Do you have stocks of books in your home? One way to refresh your book nook for spring is arranging your literature by color. Feng Shui your fiction by removing all of your books and give your shelves a quick clean with your new natural cleaner of course then ditty your books into different piles according to the color of their spine. Then put the books back on the shelves in the color pattern of your choice. This is how I did it but mix it up if you like. You now have a lovelier library just in time for spring. One nester Emily sent in these pictures of her room redo. With a little help from her mom, her bedroom went from this to this. Nice work Emily and Emily’s mom.
This week’s quick tip, bring a little green into your home by simply cutting the leaf and stem of any plant. Just sniff and place into a vessel with water, roots will soon grow and you can then plant it on soil. What DIY projects have you been working on? Send in your footage or your before and after pictures. Got a nesting dilemma, leave us a comment. Till next week, get to prepping your pad for spring.
