It may not be the English way, but it is fast and delicious and I like this a lot. I am surprised at the eloquence and civility of the English comments here. Maybe these comments are not indicative of the otherwise very kind and generous English people.

is this guy for real??? he is making a a regular onion in vinegar,,#1 should have sliced cukes and also should be WHITE vinegar and NEVER apple cider..MALT!!! i hope he reads comments..for you MR know it all about the english and their onions dont even think to presume these are traditional English pickled onions...and if you dont like the English food stay out of England and quit making videos!!!

I think you are right, but, I have tried it and I like the taste of vinegar flavored onions. Proper or not, I enjoyed it on my sandwich. Maybe someone will be kind enough to share the proper recipe. I am sure the author must read this page and may be willing to remake the video.

I live in the midlands and I appreciate the video but a lot of it is incorrect , you only ever use whoe shallots or baby onions and they should be left up to 3 months before eating otherwise they are not crunchy enough.
