Female: Meet Danny Dewey, the father of this family.
Puppet: Hello, I noticed that when you are talking to my wife Dorothy that you did not mention where you can get the foam or the foam whereof?
Female: for sure, you can get it at pennies, you can get the two-inch kind of pennies, and you can get the one-inch size and the two-inch kind at Sears.
Puppet: Thank you.
Female: You could look in betting stores where they have the thick foam. We have to buy quit a bit off it and as I said, look in craft stores.
Puppet: Thank you.
But Danny, has the same thing. The puppet came just like what his wife did. I put the glasses on it and had cut, just look the back and again pin it over to the cylinder of the body, put a little bit of padding in his chest and I put some shoulder muscles. I will foam rubber or safety pin, a big flop right here, foam rubber to turnover piece an inch wide to make him some shoulders, the same thing on the other side.
I have his hands safety pinned in his pocket, somewhat natural. See a little wedding ring I found it on the child’s store, so it looked like he was married. All these clothes are from a used clothing store, almost everything I get, comes from used clothing and if you are going to sell them you got those new things.
See these trousers? I do not even think I had to shorten it. Actually what I do is, I buy the clothing and then I make puppets to fit the clothing. He has a little leather shoes on and gray socks to match his trousers and a white shirt underneath and again, I safety pinned right here. You can feel there is a little bit of a gap here so that when he goes to sit down, his legs will come out a little bit but your safety pin right on the front of the cone cylinder.
He can stand up, we can stand up and talk. He is a little bit shorter than I am but you can see that he can stand up, okay. Well he has got two twin daughters named Sandy and Sammy. I did not buy these dresses new because it is hard to find twin dresses in every sale shop. So, this is Sandy, now this is a smaller cylinder that she has and this pretty little dress. Such a tiny just to cut the cylinder shorter, their heads mostly is 23 inches around here but the cylinder is just cut shorter that 23.
I make the cylinders 23 by 23 then I put it on the puppet. I kind of measure where she would set and then I pinned them on the cylinder, they have to be cut off or they have to be at it on and put a little bit longer. Now these particular legs came, the address that I am going to send you when you write, if you write about this, they have legs and again they are expensive. This head costs over a $100.00 so be prepared. And it makes it more valuable when you do the crafts on how to make puppets like I have shown you in some of the other shows. Just get little socks on, a little pair of leather shoes, and some little under pants. Now her sister here is our tomboy. This is Sammy. Her name is Samantha but she wants to be a tomboy and I got to paint it on her face. I took the eyelashes off by the way. I messed her hair up, pinned back her ponytails and eyelashes took off.
