We are just going to make three. If I am thinking about this I am just going to -- what you do with ravioli is place one on the bottom, place your fillings and then you put a egg wash, or you can put egg wash first and then your fillings. And then you place the other roll on top and you press down so all the air is out. So we have first --
Will you do me a favor? You are going to be the holder of this while we do this and then you are going to help us as well. But first we are going to get our egg wash which is right here, near our brush. Okay, so I am just going to put a little bit. See, I am not putting on too heavy, because if I put it on too heavy, it's not going to stick to each other.
Speaker: It's going to taste like egg.
Female Speaker: No, it just doesn't stick because it's so wet. Okay, so we have this. Now we have our stuffing. I will be the one to get my hands dirty on this for you guys. Oh! If you want it, go ahead sweetie. You go for it. Then I will keep my hands clean. Make sure you have water.
Mesh, mesh, mesh, mesh. You are ready?
Speaker: Yes.
Female Speaker: Okay, I want one of the size of meatballs, that you had. Make me another one of those. Yup, right there on that fold. Okay. Ops! Great. Let's put a little smaller than that. Same size as your meatballs. See, and even though it wasn't an even shaping or anything, it doesn't matter because you are still going to be -- we are going to be cutting out shapes.
Perfect. Now put it down on right there. And I am just putting egg wash on one side, because this one, I am just going to flip over. See that? Okay. So let's switch sides. You go down here at the end and you are going to put one more meatball and I want you to put it right in the center there. For the ravioli, I am going to lift this up, I am going to turn this to this side a little bit and you are going to lay this over the top. We are almost done.
And see how I am pressing around the ravioli and that prevents any air from being in there. You can do this second one. That egg wash. Then Macayla wash your hands and you will get to do that one sweetie. Okay, so now all you need to do is decide what shape you want to cut these in, you can do square, you can do anything or you can use this to make ruffles around the edges and then Macayla you are just going to make your little ravioli making sure you press that dough all around the outside and then you get to shape it too.
Are you guys ready to cook off your pasta?
Children: Almost, almost.
Female Speaker: Almost, almost. So I have got my water. It's simmering. That means it's not boiling, it's just simmering so that it doesn't bust apart the pasta, because this is fresh pasta and it only takes a few minutes to cook. So we don't want to break it up. Okay, so one at a time. Well, it's kind of like this. We are going to drop it in one at a time, but watch me. See, I am separating them as I drop them in so that they don't stick together. So you can come over there and drop yours in too. Yup, those are going to take a little bit longer since they are bigger. But this way they don't stick together. If we do have some of those stick, just keep those out.
Macayla: There are these air bubbles.
Female Speaker: That's okay. You did your best. They will turn out just fine at that. Good.
Children: Let's do this one.
Female Speaker: You can put that in as it is, that's beautiful. Yup, and then I am just going to stir them up. So they don't stick together and look at that. It's all ready pasta. Keep dropping them. Good.
Holly: Should I keep stirring?
Female Speaker: If you want to, just move them around a little bit. Good. Very, very gentle. And we are going to put it like two minutes, we are going to cook those and then we are going pull them out and put them on this. We have out garlic still here for our Caesar salad and I want to put a little bit in, but I wanted to see if you guys want a garlic in your salad.
Children: Yeah, yeah garlic is awesome.
Female Speaker: Okay, well then I am just going to throw it in here, right now then. Once they are done, they are so nice and long. I am just going to pull them out with this. Do you see how hard they are getting? They are getting nice and solid, so we are just going to wait a few minutes on those.
How are you are pretty raviolis. Oh! Look at that. Good job you guys. Cut right through and this dough, you can't really reuse, because once you have worked it and then tried to roll it up and work it again, what's going to happen is it's getting really tough and it would be hard and chewy. So those are beautiful. You are just going to set -- I am going to actually show you let's put them in there.
Sine we didn't have a lot of the other pasta. Good job. Okay, now we need a quick clean up. I am going to come and get my towel here. That is great. Look at that! We are going to have pasta. And you made it.
Children: Pasta, pasta, pasta.
Female Speaker: Are we are doing this salad now. So we can get rid of these knives. Knives down the sink. Knives, right behind you. Good job. Alright, let me get rid of all this hamburger that you guys left around.
Speaker: Is there time for me to take that out yet?
Female Speaker: No, I will let you know, I promise. You just keep watching and make sure nothing bad happens to it.
Speaker: Okay.
Female Speaker: You are going to help us with the salad.
