Hi, I’m Karen from Karen’s Cookies.net and I’m going to show you a really fun, sneaky way to make Cookie Pops. Now traditionally, Cookie Pops are made by inserting the stick into the cookie before you bake them but this is a really fun, little tricky way that you can just make regular cookies into Cookie Pops.
So, what I do is—no, I didn’t come up with this. Somebody else invented this. I’m just going to show you how to do this because it is cool. So, I have this little tulip up here, just the tulip head and I’ve already decorated it. And now, you want about double your cookie about three inches down so, I’m going to trim this back just a little bit. It’s just a little bit too long. So we’ll trim that off and then take the stick and set it on the bag and take a piece of a packing tape and just tape that on there, right onto the bag and the stick is about an inch and a half below the top of the bag. You don’t want all the way at the top where you’re going to see the stick from the other side.
Now, I’ve got this stick in the bag and then open that up and push the cookie up in there. Take a piece of a ribbon, I love this for the tulips because we use green ribbon. It kind of stimulates the leaves, which is fun and just tie that on there. Tie it in a cute little bow, I'm not the best bow tier but that’s okay. Tie it on there and trim up the edges a little bit and check that out. You’ve got a cookie on a stick but it isn’t really because it’s magic.
Now, there are times when I wouldn’t want this. If I were to just do cookies on a stick individually to give out as a price or something. I think I would want to bake them on a stick because you can tell when you turn around you can see the stick on there but if they’re going into a bouquet you cannot tell the difference. Just stick that in the bouquet and make your arrangement and you know we’re going to know the difference and not just saves on baking time. You can’t bake as many cookies on sticks on your pan because they take it too much space so it just saves time, it saves effort and it's’ just really fun.
