Here in California, South West Sauce is served on everything from burgers and sandwiches to salads and wraps.
Hi, I'm Chef Jason Hill and today I'm showing my favorite South West Sauce recipe. It goes great on my grilled chicken sandwich. All right, well let's get started. First, we’re going to pull some quarter cup of cilantro leaves along with a half of small tomato, quarter onion, one serrano pepper, you can get two if you like an extra spicy and a clove of garlic and if you like garlic, you can add another cloves of garlic.
You may have to stop halfway through and scrape the sides of the bowl. Okay, we did a pretty good puree on that and now you're going to add half a teaspoon of cumin, half teaspoon of kosher salt and a quarter teaspoon of cayenne pepper followed by a cup of mayonnaise and sour cream. And then we’re just going to close it again for a few seconds. And here’s the consistency of the finished sauce. This sauce goes great, drizzled over to my grilled chicken sandwich. I like to keep this sauce in a little squirt bottle, it makes it really handy whenever I go to use it. Keeps for about two weeks in the refrigerator, this is in place of—next time you want to kick up something, thanks for tubing in.
