All right this meaty right here is a spaghetti squash. I know that actually this again. Now that they put in the wrong isle in the store but its not, it’s a yellow squash and if you cook it properly the flesh inside is actually going to separate into this amazing spaghetti like strands hands the name. Let me show how to do this, it’s so easy. By the way there’s a label on these things to tell you how to cook it. I want you to just ignore that, its say to cook in the pan of water upside down and bake it in the water in it. I think it leads as a lot of the flavor so I want it to retain more the flavor. I’m going to cook it foil with no water. So here’s how are we going to do this.
We’re going to prep the inside by simply just scraping out the seeds. So just take yourself of the spoon and just the fresh is really hard and firm so you’re not to worry about doing any damage to scrape it and get rid all the seeds, see nice and clean. And I want you get heavy duty foil like I told you this before, get a roll of heavy duty foil. It’s right next to the regular foil. It’s just longer, thicker, so much easier to work with. Stop from a piece together in a little piece of foil. All right so just wrap that up nice and tight all right up on both ends and I want you to heat your oven to 375. Put this on a sheet pan and I want you to roast this for about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes and how it bit the squash is. Mine took about an hour and 10 minutes. You’re looking for full tender.
So when the fork goes in easily, you know you’re ready to roll. All right so that’s was a good for me like I said about an hour and 10 minutes. Now this has to cool a little before you can handle it. So I want you to flip it over and just let it cool kind of upside down. See almost took that label off and I remembered. I think this is like a mattress, I think he needs the little label on. So I don’t want to get in trouble.
Once it was cool enough to handle, prepping it is really super simple. Just take your fork and just scrape it away from the skin and that you’ll see how easy it separates and then again against his name because look at those strands, squash looks just like spaghetti when you put it on the plate.
Now for this dish right here in particular, I just dress it really simply. I just want it to enjoy that kind of appear squash flavor. So I drizzled a little olive oil on there, so nice black pepper. I’m going to put a little salt. On here and the salt I’m using is a sea salt. So if you never use a sea salt before, I’ve checked the link on the page but a really nice salt. It taste—all taste like salt but it’s nice and then we’re going to finish with some delicious real raised parmesan. You’re not allowed to use thick cheese if you watch my videos.
So get some really expensive nice raised parmesan, nothing like it in there is a beautiful plate of veggie. Anyway this is a plain form. This makes an incredible base for meat dishes such as grilled chicken. Imagine of just a nice, brined pork chop on there. A big double thick cut pork chop that would be beautiful. Actually put some jalapeno cheese on this the other day you probably saw that clip.
Anyway I want you give this a try, its all proof, you’re going to love it and enjoy.
