How to Make Spectrocope

Crown Delorean: In this video, I'm going to show you how to make your own spectroscope entirely from junk you can find that on the house. This is a great high used product for kids. Here is what you a need -- to index cuts hot glue, pen or pencil, and utility knife or scissors, band and tape. Here is how to do it, mark a circle on the CD using the tube as a template. Make a little scratch on the disk, this will make easier to remove the reflective layer from the CD using tape and cut the circle. Place two index cards on side of the tube creating and use hot glue to stick it in place.

Place the circle at the other side of the tube and measure the lines of the CD parallel to those lit between the cuts. Cut all the rest of the index cards, paint as you like and it's ready. Look through this little plastic and you will be amazed how it is acting as a great Diffraction grating. Grating the top into its constituent specter of glass. Now, you can see the light of spread through from almost any source of light. But remember, different light sources produce different spectra, don't look directly at the sun. Have fun.
