What we’re doing is we’re making this two drinks, the lemonade, the ice tea, the orange, okay. What we are doing is putting cinnamon, regular cinnamon, nothing else, okay. We have cloves. I do not if you. I’m sure you’ve seen them what you put in the ham, cloves. Then after the cloves, you also have orange and I do this all the time, this is a lemon, this is a lime. However, in Spanish, this is a limon. This is a limon and this is a lima, so it is like backwards. So when I came this like 30 years ago. It was the hardest thing to go, “No, I want lemon and they would give me this. No, not this, its this, no, its this. You know, so it is very interesting but you know believe it or not folks mine say, well, what is lime, what is lemon. People actually might not know that. Because I don’t cook or they cook but they don’t go too technical, I guess.
I brought it too in—things. You can buy your lime this way, or your lemon this way. Same thing whatever is on sale get it. Its nothing specific, just the health comes into the preparation. Some of the ingredients, if you can do an organic as I say, great, okay, water and cinnamon sticks, that’s it, the brew is simple. I like this brew because on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day or any event in your life that you don’t drink. If you are not a drinker, this is a nice little drink to have with you. In the summer it is great, it is so good. You can put raspberry, you can put. What else, your pineapple, you can mix it up. If you want to keep it sugar free just buy stuff that is sugar free and keep adding. And you can make a summer drink or fall drink. This is your basic ingredient for the brew, the rest, get happy.
Whatever you like, so see that is a simple sugar free—keep away from the sodas. Hey, I’m giving you a choice here, stay away from the sodas please. Think about it, if they are going to make them zero free, or fat free, or whatever it is, they got to, they take in the sugar but there is something else they are putting on, remember that. So sodas, unless we are all addicted to sodas, try to work on it. All right, I’m going to make whole two gallons, okay because it is just, seven of us. Water, drinking water that’s it. You want six ounces. How much six-pack a soda, three bucks? Okay, drinking water that is it, okay we are going to let that one and get all the ingredients, we are going let it boil.
I just got this for you and I haven’t even opened it. Okay, its getting kind of cold, I’m shutting this off now. But the smoke is luminous. Oh my gosh, it is always an incision, here we go. Okay, so you see them just like crystallites, right and those are very simple because they come in your car and any place you want and, you can make yourself a drink instead of taking them to work, take them to work. The accountant can’t even tell you at least stay away from the summer. I was saying, they say one cup now I never use a cup, I use two envelopes, you know I’m going to tell you a secret, I’m so bad with measurements because I do my own thing.
Do you do that when you cook? A little bit of this, a little bit of that. I never felt, okay. It is a Hot Kool-Aid, one, so let’s say you bought the crystallite right. Okay, so two of these guys are still potent. And you know why I call it a brew, because it looks like the same color of a dark beer. Now lemonade is bitter, we’re not doing any sugar, so one lemonade. And then you know what, we will do one lemonade we’ve tasted. We do one more lemonade. The recipe again, if because I have my basic recipes and then I kind of work them around because sometimes clients ask for recipes so I actually have to put a recipe together so I have something to base.
So if a client ask me for a recipe, I give them at least half a cup of orange sugar free drink because you have it now. If you want to double up this, like for 40 people and just do two gallons, of—two gallons of water and double up everything by 32 people can be drinking this. Well ones, may we add three cups. Now if you have to have the alcohol, vodka like make a little rum, vodka for the cold, but rum you can put dark rum and make little hot. It is kind of cool. But then again, you get in the sugar and the rum, but it is up to you. Maybe you will lower the sugar and the drink and you put in alcohol, and you’re happy.
Okay, now here it comes. And this is what is funky when you are drinking it, you will go find this, okay but it is where the fun is. Hey, you know what I was thinking, Halloween. It is fun kind of like witches brew and do all these kind of crazy stuff in here. I am only kidding. All right half a teaspoon but between my nails and everything is half a teaspoon cinnamon. And you are like Myra, I’m going to drink that. Yeah! See the color, it’s like painting, it’s like painting. Can you see, I don’t know if there is like the camera shooting this area of the pot. Can you see the pot on the camera, just this part. Just like Price is Right, you know.
Okay, I don’t know if it is not but I got to make it boil. Now in the meantime, move my cinnamon and all my little. Okay, because this is one thing I like to boil. Of course, you are going to wash them considering you are going to boil the skin, you know. And sometimes depending on the mood. I do actually spiral. I get in spiral skin and this is little twirls, right, and I will put them in here. So when you are serving them in a nice type of not on the glass but something that is maybe clear. It is not—if you want do it a cold drink. Nice and clear, you put this little orange square, lemon square, and you put it in the cup and it is so pretty.
And then ice, can you see that whole effect in your mind, you have the orange and the lime spiral, the ice and then the drink. Can you picture it. It is very pretty. So if you want to impress somebody, always do the low round little spiral going on and you put it in your glass and then you are like put them on like those water things. You know the bases when you water your whatever. You can put them in there and you decorate then in your pitcher that is the word in y our pitcher water. Pitcher of juice, put all the fruit. I always call it accessorize.
Okay, so we do at least two orange, okay, two orange, one lime, one lemon. So if you are doing a nice punch okay so. I am going to get crazy okay, but you can put pineapples and all the cherries, dry fruit when it is hot, a couple of cranberries, nice, okay. Again wash it, when you say, my gosh you know—but it is just sometimes, I think cooking helps other people when somebody is showing you how to cook it gives you like opens up all the ideas because I can do this with this you know and that is what I want. I know you all probably know how to cook better than me but it is exchanging the ideas and I just want to give you ideas on how to do this.
All right, just because I’m a chef, it doesn’t mean, hey you can be teaching me some good stuff. I like those old school techniques. All right, now, its got to boil a little bit. Now let’s see how it taste. Let me see—I don’t want to, you know, I lost my spoon. You know I did this in purpose I said, “Hmm oh there he is.” She was nearby. Let’s see, remember the clubs are going to be there. I’m telling you, all right it is bitter, not bitter, meaning it is lack of sweets, so this is what I’m going to do I am going to fix this. I wanted it a little bitter okay. Just a tat, I’m changing a little bit of the chemistry, I want to give you sweets without raisins. Let him boil and I want share this with you.
It is correct for this, yeah, I just want to make sure that I’m going to burn people. It is too much fun for I just I’m telling you for Halloween, which is brew you are doing in a pot. I don’t know if you come from a small town or whatever. You can actually give foods to the kids before nobody sues you. So if you do, this is a cool little thing to put it outside. So when they go trick or treating they have your hot brew in. Okay and then we are going to put a little bit of stick just right in there hanging out. Just going quite pot and let me switch it.
