James Wilson: Hey guys this is James Wilson with MTB Strength training system in some of my demo videos you may have noticed me using a step. I wouldn't step and had a couple of people right me and want to know how I made those because they are great addition to your home gym but unfortunately a lot of times people don't use steps and things like that because like the aerobic steps are hardly expensive and so for those you know brightly colored plastic pieces are grabbed cause like 35 ,40 bucks a piece so people don't want to do that, that's actually the problem I run into and to help my facility I wanted to use them but just way to expensive for me to stock upon, So the thing is like one sheets make some out of wood you know and fro 35,40 bucks I am able to make like ix of them.
So what I am going to do is show you what my stuffs look like and just kind go over really quick and nothing majorly complicated, so basically here it is right here and as you can see what I have got is a piece of 2/12 on top right here and the I have got 2 pieces of 4/4 for the legs and so I believe that I have get the 2/12 into a 2/4 wide section and so what I do is go to home deeper or something like that get me a 12 foot section of 2/12 and in a lot of those places we actually cut it for you and so this time you need to cut in a two foot sections and then get to the same thing with the 4/4 and just there you go and you know make sure you measure how wide the board actually is because even though it's a 2/12 its not actually 12 inches across it's a little bit less than that so measure the exact distance of the board and then just cut the pieces of 4/4 to match that and then line them up and nail them in.
I mean if you want to use some sort of like ore glue like gorilla glue or something like that, that's not a better idea but then you can see two on the top. For attraction I have got this is stuff that you can put on steps that's basically skate board, tucking, deck Tate and so but get a you can get away home deeper or something like that, they use it to get traction on stairs and out door or something like that so and that should know what you are talking about it you know just make sure like say just like skate board you know deck Tate you know its going to grip Tate there its going to be you know rough and give you some traction and so you know I run my three to four pieces on there to give me some traction as I am doing this exercises and stuff lie that and you can stack them on top of each other to get different heights and things like that but that's basically yes.
That's how you can make your own steps for home use like I said you know you are just using one for yourself, you probably like three or four is not going to cost you more than $30, $40. The grip takes actually the most expensive part of the construction that is which is why I don't just deck out the whole thing with grip tape but that's pretty much in so you two can have your own stuffs and that's how you make them so hope you guys have enjoyed this tip and as just get those out there if you are going to follow this advice and you are going to do it on your own your on your own this is not like some official explanation and I'm guaranteeing anything.
So if something falls part on you and you get hurt that's not my fault and obviously, we are trying to generic stuff and so anytime you do that you are on your own with the hat but this worked well fro me I had these in my facility for over two years now and I never had any issues with them there, there is extremely steady they work well and so that's pretty much it so once again its been James Wilson with MTB Strength training systems you can find more great tips like this bikejames.com. I will talk to you guys next time.
