How to make stone cuts using a grinder?
Dean: Hey, I’m Dean.
Derek: I’m Derrick, we are from DIY Network
Dean: Indoors Out.
Derek: Today we’re going to show you how to use a grinder with a diamond blade.
Dean: Now grinders come in 4-inch or 4-1/2-inch but we recommend a 4-1/2-inch grinder because it will have enough for to every project that we need them.
Derek: Now this is great tool for small jobs like cutting small pieces of concrete, stone, very handy.
Dean: Also you know for steel and real bunch of woods.
Derek: Now when you get your diamond blade you want to put it on. First thing, make sure that your grinder is un-plug.
Dean Oh! Yes, I remember that time for you.
Derek: No, I forgot all about it.
Dean: The diamond blades are not universal but they all come with a fitting. Make sure you put that fitting on because that will guarantee it will fit whatever grinder you buy. Also, you put on a little bit of lubrication, guarantee that this knot will come off when you want to change that blade.
Derek: Now, one of the most important things is this little key here that tightens your blade.
Dean: Which is the wrench. Now every grinder has a lock. It’s going to lock this blade in place, so when Derek tightens it. It’s not going to move.
Derek: Now we’re all set to start cutting. Very important thing’s next
Dean: Don’t forget your safety glasses and your mask.
Derek: I’m going to draw my line where I want to cut.
Dean: Derek is going to score the line.
Derek: I want to score the line on both ends and over the top, that way it guarantees my cut to be nice and clean. Now after you make your cut, you find that it didn’t cut all the way through, no problem, get yourself a chipping hammer. Cap it lightly at the ends, comes off like a button.
Dean: And that’s how you cut, keep a diamond blade on a grinder.
