Divya: Hi, I’m Divya Gugnani.
Caroline: I’m Caroline Alexa McBride. And we’re here at Bungalow 8, one of New York City’s hottest night clubs.
Divya: The tight door policy is as legendary as their celebrities and socialites.
Caroline: We’re putting you on the VIP list to sip signature drinks and shake it up with the Manhattan’s best martinis.
Divya: Let’s go behind the burner and meet the head mixologist and see how he stirs it up for the stars.
Caroline: We’re here at with Ryan Metke, head bartender of Bungalow 8. Wow Ryan it looks delicious. Explain what we’re drinking here.
Ryan: Well you’re having the Malibu, which is coconut rum, a little triple sec, a little lime, a little sugar, a little dash of cranberry, a splash of pineapple. Shaken up, nice and cold. And it’s a nice little drink to have on the beach, even though we’re not on the beach. But I guess one of the things with Martinis, one of the things I’d like to do is kinda chill the glass first. Put some ice. I’m drinking a cowboy martini which is freshly muddled lime and mint, citron vodka, shaken, nice and cold. The mint adds a little punch to it. You’re having, which probably is the most popular cocktail we serve here. Watermelon martini—we’ve blend up a watermelon everyday. It’s just vodka, watermelon and little sugar to sweeten it up.
Divya: Well cheers! Cheers guys.
Ryan: Cheers!
Caroline: Now we know why they say Bungalow 8 has such great martinis. The proof is in the martini glass.
