How to Make Sushi Dipping Sauce

Speaker: Okay, so now we have to make our dipping sauce. It's always fun to have something to go with our Sushi, so that we can eat it, obviously. What I did is I am going to make a really big batch, because I know that you guys like Sushi. So, we are going to do the same things with rice wine vinegar. We have some sesame oil, some soy sauce, and a little bit of sugar. You can add all of that in for her, Asher, as she whisks it up. Look at how good that is and that will be our dipping sauce. That is perfect. Let's put that on a plate. How pretty that looks! Child: All of that goes in? Speaker: Yup, all of that goes in there, perfect. Look at that. And then that sauce got a little extra thickness to it. Do you see that how it stuck to all of them? Beautiful! Very nice, and you do that. I'll give it a hot, hot, hot, hot, hot. Look at that beautiful --now, Asher do you want to garnish that? What do you want to put on there? You've got some of this. We also have, let's see some pickle ginger if you want to put some of that on there. That'll be very pretty. Then you can just set it up on front, some wafers. Okay. I would like, have you ever zested an orange? Child: Like take out the skin ? Speaker: Yes. Child: No. Speaker: Okay, let me give you this. I am going to have you cut a bunch of that off of there and we are going to add it to our Vinegret over here, for our dipping sauce. Look at how pretty that is. I will get rid of these and then we are ready to roll our Sushi. Are you guys excited? I am excited. That looks great. So once you have dig in nice and hard, don't be afraid, it's just an orange. Let me see the angle. Just a little bit deeper angle you want to make this. It's kind of tip it up just a little bit more, and do what you can, it's okay. Just a little bit more, yeah like closer. There you go, see! Good. Okay let's get our Sushi station set up. Alright so, we'll take this orange zest right here, and I think that's enough. Thank you. Oh, that smells so good and I m going to put that in directly with our dipping sauce. I like a little orange zest in there, it just makes a little bit bitter which I like, I like the bitterness. Alright let's get rid of your cutting board. Oh! Did you put any ginger in that? Child: In there? No. Speaker: Yeah, put a little bit of that in there. Let's see, put a little cilantro in there too. How about some garlic? Child: Put in this? Speaker: No, it will go into Sushi, how about that? That sounds a little more fun. Oh! That is so pretty, look at that you've got.
