Hi, I am Mus Kama9 and I am here to show you how to make realistic creepy looking fog for under 30 bucks on this weeks edition of Indy Mogul Weekend Extra.

Now the first thing you are going to need make your fog is of course a fog machine. Now, I have got my fog machine for around 20 bucks. You know you can get a fog machine in any Halloween store or effects store. I got mine in a store in the mall called Juice. Now, this was 20 bucks and this is pretty big and this will last you a very long time. So do not sweat about buying this.
Now, most of you would think making fog is very easy. You just plug in the fog machine and go. But to make a realistic looking fog, it is going to be a little bit more complex than that. I will show you.
Here we go, I got my fog machine set up but as you can see the fog is not all that realistic. It is very light and it is flying away almost immediately and precipitating.
Now this happens because in order to make fog, a fog machine pops fog juice through a heating element and then shoots it out the fog machine. Now that makes this fog very hot which means it go everywhere and disperse and be very thin. So our solution, cool the fog out.

We are going to need four things: A piece of PVC pipe with an opening that is big enough to go over your fogs machine’s nozzle. Of course some ice, a plastic cap with holes in it, to cover up your PVC pipe or you can do what I did, and just cut out a wooden circles and drill some holes in it and if you do that you are also going to be needing, some tape, to tape it on top of your pipe.
Let us get started. What you want to do is take your pipe and your wooden grade, find an end, place the grape right over there, and tape it. Just tape it off. Now of course, this does not need to be pretty as you can see; it just has to hold the griddle. Next, we would want take our ice and just push it down. All right we now got our pipe filled with ice up about three quarters of the way, so now we are going to attach it to our fog machine. To attach your pipe to the fog machine, all you got to do is to take the pipe put it right over the nozzle. Your fog should come out the grade. Let us try it out.

I want you to take in mind how much thicker and heavier it is and how it is sticking closer to the ground. I find this kind of fog to be much more realistic in the movie. Notice how it is just skimming across the ground.
Now let us take a final look at our expenses for this project. Fog machine cost 20 bucks. The amount fog juice we used probably cost around a dollar or two. The wooden grade practically free and the masking tape, probably around a dollar, that brings our project to a grand total of 28 bucks.
Now of course the fog machine does make some noise while it is operating and if this does bother you or interrupt your shots, you could just dub it over with a different audio track.
There we go, we have successfully cooled down our fog making it low line, thicker and most importantly, really a realistic fog.
