Jeanette: When it comes to buying towels, you want to start by getting the best price. See if there are any manufacturer outlets in your area. They will offer the best deals. Next, find stores that sell seconds. Now these are towels with slight imperfections, maybe a discontinued color, design or a snug in the fabric.
Now there are only a few towel mills in the states which make most of the towels for different manufacturers. So towels are one item that you should shop price and how they feel, not necessarily by the label.
Towels with the longest loops are considered the highest quality. Look for cotton, Egyptian cotton or bamboo. This way, you're getting the best quality at the best price. Now when you do wash towels, use cold water. Use a gentle cycle and detergent. Hang them on the line to dry. You know dryers are very hard on towels.
