One of the first things your guest see is your doormat so make sure you have one that welcomes them in. Doormats wear out quickly since they are constantly walked on and exposed to the elements. Why not give an older plain mat new life by painting stripes like these. Doormat frames could be purchased at most home and hardware stores. You can fill a frame with river rock to create a durable yet beautiful rustic style mat. And here’s a cause effective idea, pick up a piece of inexpensive carpet remnant from a flooring store and place it inside the frame.

When it gets worn out, just replace it with another remnant and you have a brand new mat. As the saying goes, you never get a second chance to make a first impression. And a beautiful doormat is a wonderful way to welcome visitors to your home.
