Horse Hero
How to for horse lovers on film

During the winter it can be quite hot to keep a clipped horse looking really gleaming and
shining it almost helps if you got good feeding that you could leave from the inside but a
top tip I use is pig oil, which you can get form your local feed merchant so I have bit kind
of it here and I just pour a little bit into a bowl like that get a sponge here and you need to
tie any tiny bit so it’s the last quite a long time so I just put it straight on to its skin a very
light coating all over and it’s a nice natural product it doesn’t have any nasty chemicals
and doesn’t get slippery or greasy so you can put it on the neck and not worry about your
ring slipping. It’s also a very good skin moisturizer the horse has any cuts or abrasions
that helps the hair to grow back really quickly.
It’s excellent barrier for mud fever in the winter and sweet itch in the summer so it’s just
a fantastic all around product. You can’t see an instant shine and I build it out gradually
over the weeks but when you’re in an indoor school in floodlights it really catches the
lights and hopefully the judges decide for those extra few marks.
