Today I am going to show you how to make your pumpkin last longer.
As you know, a lot of people are starting to carve the pumpkins and several of them will probably be wilted and kind of icky by the time Halloween around.
So, as you can see, I got a good size pumpkin here. It is carved with pie or pumpkin pie, on a mathematic symmetric. Anyway, if you noticed it is a little shiny through here and that is actually what I had used to preserve this pumpkin. If you see, I can pull the lid out here that I have made. If you can actually see this, this is petroleum jelly covering the pumpkin and I got to put thick on here so you can see it really well.
But basically, you coat the inside of your pumpkin in all the cut edges, all the exposed edges that normally would have not been exposed, with this petroleum jelly. Basically what it does, it prevents the pumpkin from leaving it moisture from the outside here. Otherwise, it would start to, obviously, lead into moisture trouble.
But to prevent that, you can get petroleum jelly. It takes about, for pumpkin like this, one jar per pumpkin. So, it is something that you can use for the pumpkin.
That is it! Happy Halloween and hopefully it works for you all. It works for me.
