This video of Bartending Lesson is brought to you by American Bartenders School from one of its simulated cocktail lounge classrooms where students learn by doing just like on the job training, and in only one or two weeks they can be fully trained and ready to work as professional bartenders and take advantage of the many full and part time job opportunities available.
Welcome back, thanks for joining us. The drink that we’re going to show you how to make today is called a Red Headed Slut. All right, this drink we’re going to shake because we want to pre-chill it before putting it in our glass. What we want to do is ice down our rock glass before we start preparing our drink because once we pour our drink into here, our Red Headed Slut, the drink is only going to get warmer so we want the glass to be nice and cool. So what we’re going to do is we’re going to take our glass mixing cup and we’re going to put some ice in there. And then what we’re going to use is three quarters of an ounce of Jägermeister. This is what a bottle of Jägermeister looks like. It’s actually imported from Germany and Jägermeister means “hunt master” in German. It’s made from 56, yes 56 different herbs and flavoring agents. A lot of people say it tastes like cough medicine. I don’t know. Okay, so we’re going to use three quarters of an ounce, there we go, of our Jägermeister. And now what we’re going to use is three quarters of an ounce of our peach Schnapps—our peach flavored liqueur. It’s sweet. It’s got a peach flavor. There we go. And now what we’re going to use is our cranberry juice. We’re just going to put a little splash in, there we go; we don’t have to put too much in.
Now what we’re going to do is we’re going to shake this up, we want this to be nice and chilled. There we go, let’s shake it up vigorously. Temper ice salt and then what we’re going to do is just strain it without the ice right into our glass. Right like so.
There we have it, Red Headed Slut sometimes as a shooter and what they mean by a shooter is they just down it without stopping.
