Here is a quick tip on folding increasing paper. I run my finger over the edge of the paper and make sure that things line up. Once the alignment is good, I go to the opposite end of the paper and pinch down to start my crease.

Then I like to lay the piece of paper down and make a hard crease with the back of nail. Creases are important in Origami because they guide other folds. So good technique will pay off.
