(Guitar Playing) Oh son of a. Well, this week on Fashion Enemy I am going to show you Master Shreaders the way they convert their broken guitar straps into a rocking new belt.
(Commercial break)
The first step is for you to take your scissors or your seam remover, in this case I am using the seam remover and this seam right here is the only seam that we are going to remove. We will just start to slide on these edges. Now, that we have our seam taken apart we are going to basically under the belt and we are going to remove the broken part. We no longer need this because it no longer needs us. Make sure the black is facing inside. Place it around your hips like you would normally wear your belt, you do not actually have to put it on. I wear mine on the sides so I am going to place my adjuster here. So, basically I now, I have pulled a little snug. So, now that I know, once it is here and I have it pulled through it will hang to about there.
That is a good length and I want to go with that. So, now I am going to take my chalk, pencil, or a pen; whatever mark you think can mark on here and I am going to mark right here, keep it folded and that is my sow line which is our next step.
(Commercial break)
Now for our next step, you can use a sewing machine or if say you are on the road in your rock and roll lifestyle, gives you out of control and you feel like sewing, you can get one of those little sewing kits that you probably get in your room and you can sow it yourself that is how simple this belt really is.
Now, what we are going to do it, we are going to sew on that blue line I made here in a back stitch, just do it back and forth a few times. So, now that we are done sewing this thing, cut off the excess, strap it on, and get ready to start rocking again.
I noticed this thing is a little bare so definitely I am going to have to embellish this thing. Right we started and run it over later but what I am more interested in is seeing what you created. So stop by at myspace.com/ahfashion and also stop by at threadbangers.com and hit the boards up and post your photos here.
Until the next Fashion Enemy I am Andrew Hanson. Stay smart.
I am going to show you how to cut out the BS and make a killer stripe shirt with some edge.
