Hi, my name is Dale Roberts; I am with the Java Shack in Arlington, Virginia. Today I am showing you how to make coffee beverages. Next we’ll be making the Cafe Latte. Starting with your porter filter, fresh ground Espresso, fill your porter filter basket, tamping to about fifty pounds. So, you have your porter filter into your machine, we’re going to use a nice large cup and using fresh milk.
Remember, your milk will double in size approximately. We are going to heat the milk to 130 degrees, the same time the milk steaming, we can get the shot of Espresso going. Once again you should not hear very much noise coming from your milk at all, a slight whistling sound from time to time. And this way, we don’t want the milk to be as foamy as it was for the Cappuccino. So we’re going to put the wand deeper into the milk. Once that reaches the proper temperature, take it out, let it rest. A Latte is mostly steamed milk with a light layer of froth on top.
We’re going to pour it. We just let the milk and the froth come out together, so it is Cafe Latte. Next, I will be showing you how to make the Cafe Mocha.
